As of right now, the only person who can toggle comments on studios is the studio’s host. While I agree that only the host being able to edit the description/title/thumbnail should stay that way, I don’t see any good reason why only the host of a studio should be able to toggle comments.

I’m a manager of the LGBTQ+ studio which has raids and other icky things happen relatively frequently, and it’s frustrating to see those things go down and not be able to close comments because the current host of the studio is asleep or off doing something else.

If the option was added for every manager to be able to open or close comments when needed, it would definitely help to solve issues like this!

:edit: It seems there’s a lot of people concerned about abuse of the feature, this is an easily solved issue by removing any managers causing problems and trusting people before promoting them!

I’m sorry I didn’t add many reasons for this, I’m just too burnt out from homework to think of anything else but if anyone has any other reasons they think it would be useful I can definitely add them to this post!

Sounds like an interesting idea, especially considering the 45 manager limit could make this idea much more secure.

This sounds like a diseater because some troll cloud just close the comments if it is a chat room. Then no comment section if they open it they cloud just close it again and it repeats so no support.

Even if they keep closing comments, there are other managers there to control it.

But I think this is a great idea, especially if the owner goes inactive. Being able to close comments to prevent things like spam and rude remarks is really useful, and I think managers should be able to do this. Additionally, this would essentially cool down the fact that many people still think managers get no control.

This would bring in the idea of studio ranks, since in some studio's you might want people to have different permissions than others. And also a bright shiny piece of text right next to their name in the studio.

I hadn’t considered the idea of studio ranks when I wrote this suggestion, but that could be taken into consideration regarding comment closure if different ranks other than manager, curator, and host are implemented!

Support, managers need to have more abilities than what they have now, and this is a good step towards that.

Can the host decide whether managers can do this?
If so, support because of reasons stated in op.
If not, no support because the host may not want comments closed or open.
Will it be in studio activity?
If so, support because although people do get annoyed from studio activity, everyone should know.
If not, semi-support.
