What is the MAXIMUM amount of costumes that can be used in a sprite??

What is the MAXIMUM amount of costumes that can be used in a sprite??
If I wanted to make a long, smooth animation or something like that would scratch limit me to say, 1000 costumes?
I don't wanna start and find out.

pretty sure its either
A) a big cap that most scratchers wouldnt hit
B) infinite
either way 700 or so just lags the costume editor so its not going to be fun animating with a lot of lag

I doubt you'll end up hitting the costume limit (if it exists) but even if you do you can just split it into two sprites

There's no cap, but if the project size exceeds a certain limit you might run into issues.

There's no need to worry about it unless you are going for >10,000 costumes or >1,000 detailed vector costumes.

There is none, but there’s a 5MB project.json limit. To see this file, just download the project, and change the file extension to “.zip”, then unzip the file.

This is an interesting question however i do wonder why large amounts of animation causes lag? Could it be prevented if made into a custom block?
