I am in support of this since itd be really useful to help for people that wanna write in their own languange, but the letter doesnt exist
How about ő and ű as well since I don't see em listed?
(Definetly not asking because im hungarian)

Not saying this solves the problem, but I might make a project with vector sprites of those letters. The eszett would be difficult to make though.

I'll post here when I complete it.

The sprite library would basically explode if it contained all letters known-

ß would be hard to make, while I believe it'd be better for the other ones to simply add the symbols above them as sprites instead, as there are more combinations then those (well, maybe not with those symbols, but for some of the other ones)

This seems like an awesome idea, I'd love to see this in the future! The only problem though it that there is LOTS of these and I mean A LOT.

No support. There are just too many to be added and it's not really that hard to make them yourself if you need them.

Another reason why to do this: English loanwords from languages like French and Latin. It would make it easier to type our own language as well

Support, this would be really useful for including Scratchers who don't speak English or want to make projects in another language that use the letter sprites.

That said, where does one draw the line? Obviously it wouldn't be feasible to add all, say, Japanese or Chinese characters. What about other alphabet-based languages that don't use latin script, like Russian or Georgian? Should those be added too, even though it would make the library massive?

But I'm definitely in favour of adding extra letter sprites for the latin alphabet with diacritics.

Yeah, I think being inclusive of all languages would be a change the Scratch Team would like to make their software more accessible to non-english speakers. Furthermore, accents of letters like A, E etc can just be put in as costumes on the already existing sprites for these.

I don't know about korean and japanese, but atleast in chinese, there is a way of writing the pronounciation of a word known as pinyin. This uses accent marks (specifically, - / \/ and \)
