Before scratch Explore page / “Trending” was consisting of english games, Games that people could understand.

No hate but recently japanesse project are taking over trending. Having projects that the vast magority of the scratch community cannot understand kinda defeats the purpose or trending.

Does anyone know why?

This is not ment to be racis* post but im merely wondering why this is happening.

I don’t know why, probably because the Japanese community is big, or they created great project and ppl who understands Japanese likes it and the guys who just watch it without knowing what it says likes it too.

The explore page is broken, so they reverted to a global trending page, which means everywhere gets the same trending page. Japanese projects are just very popular

This is an old bug. Back in 2020, if you had french as your selected language, almost all project shown on trending were in french, but it seems like Scratch do not filter project based on language as much as they did before which makes each trending page, no matter the language selected, looks very similar.

yea this is true

Just think about how japanese feel about every project on the front page being in english.

A) ‘japanese projects taking over the trending page’ does sound quite racist.

B) Um, no. People can understand Japanese. English is not the only language people speak.

C) It really doesn't. The purpose of trending is to show projects that became popular quickly.

D) I've played a few Japanese games. Usually they contain English translations or someone explains the game in the comments. Most often though, it only takes a few minutes to grasp the concept of the game.

E) Japanese is a language with millions of speakers across the world. I know half of the internet is English, but it doesn't mean that speakers of other languages don't use the www.

F) The actual reason for it is the same reason why any project gets on trending. People like it.

Edit) This isn't a bug or glitch. This is a fact of life.
