How to unblock

My friend’s scratch account got blocked and she contacted appeals@scratch.mit.edu about 2 weeks ago and they haven’t gotten back to her. Please tell me what we can do to help her. Thanks!

How to unblock

The only way to unblock is appealing I think. If the ST hasn’t responded yet, wait a bit more and then try to send it again (I guess? I don’t know much about sending appeals)

How to unblock

Give it a month or two. Scratch is a huge site and there are about 90 ST members, so they don't have a lot of people to handle appeals. Additionally, they also have to handle the other moderation features, like reporting comments and moderating the forums.

They also have to deal with all the other people who weren’t expecting a ban when they harassed another Scratcher and calling the ST stupid.

How to unblock

I've done some research and data collection and so far the average time it takes for the ST to reply to an appeal is 27.5 days.
However, it may be more like two months.
(Note that this is on a very small sample of data. If you've ever been permanently banned, tell me on my profile how long it took for the ST to reply to your appeal, so I can improve it).

To emphasize this point, if your friend submits an appeal saying things like “I was banned for no reason!” or “You're stupid for banning me!” or nitpicking the reasons while ignoring the actual important stuff or anything of that nature, the appeal may be ignored with no response.

Then there’s the false reporting because someone got mad at someone, mass reported them, then got into a big fight…blah blah blah.

TL;DR The ST’s main priority isn’t appeals.
