Use this, it'll help you with all your homebrewing needs.

Also make sure your Wii is UP TO DATE (version 4.3) before homebrewing!

INSTALL BOOTMII AND PRIILOADER BEFORE DOING ANYTHING AFTER HOMEBREWING YOUR WII!

I recommend using either Letterbomb or STR2HAX. Mostly STR2HAX bc you don't need a computer OR SD card/USB drive, you only need a Wii with an active internet connection.
(I'd say the steps to STR2HAX but I don't want the ST to come and yeet me to Ohio)
You will need a computer and SD card/USB drive for everything else.

If the Wii gets bricked then try following steps to un-brick it.

If you end up getting a low-level brick, your Wii is toast (unless you have a SaveMii dongle or know how to use SaveMiiFrii).

and how do you install infectus into the hardware because it says you need infectus to fix it

Low-level brick. Basically when boot1 is modified or when boot2 fails the signature check.
Apparently Nintendo's own boot2 update code is so unreliable that

The BootMii developers decided to use their own code
The 4.2 update bricked some consoles (including unmodified ones)

If you have BootMii/boot2 (only Wiis made before a certain point in 2008 can, and all of those are white RVL-001 models), you have the best brick protection. Otherwise, Priiloader and BootMii/IOS are fine, though certain bricks can't be fixed with them. Even if you have BootMii/boot2, you should still install Priiloader.

It's summer so most restrictions are taken off of me. WiiGptii is like chatgpt but for the Wii. DALL-E is also included on WiiGptii also btw.

Wii.guide Edit: the Wii could get bricked if you use a homebrew app incorrectly. Another way people brick their Wii's is by installing custom system menu themes. Also, another tip is to NEVER uninstall priiloader once you install it. You should also never install “pimp my Wii” because it can make your Wii very unstable.

I've managed to successfully Opera-brick a Wii (albeit it's Dolphin)

Disallowing mismatched region settings (which is normally enabled anyways) fixes it.

Hey everyone, all of my wads and everything are running off IOS 58. What would happen if I just reloaded to ios 249 (which I have installed but never used) but left all my wads installed?

I found a really dangerous way to update priiloader! First, you have to launch the homebrew browser. Next, you find priiloader on there and if there's a question mark on it, click on it. Once it updates return to the Homebrew channel and immediately launch priiloader. Then follow the onscreen instructions to reinstall priiloader. After that, you should be good. If you reboot you Wii before reinstalling priiloader then its dead (I think)

Not sure. I think that some of them would still work, depending on what the WAD is for.

I updated the whole app. I think it deleted priiloader and I had to reinstall it.

Does anyone know where to find a list of compatibility for Nintendont forcing 480p on PAL GameCube games? I'd like to try it on some of mine but a few don't seem to work properly. Some work perfectly though, you just need to go through the first menu where it asks if you want 50hz or 60hz and select 60hz without being able to see what's on the screen.
