Either since they get mad at someone and wanna feed their ego just because someone likes to do something they don't or overall something petty such as making another person realize whats wrong with a clearly bad thing, its mostly because people want to do a “little trolling” for whatever reason.

People want to be “trolls.” They want to knock down competitors at all costs, or just want fame. Either that or they hate that person/project. The worst part is that they aren't even real trolls! They're just bullies pretending to be trolls…

A lot of users like to treat “mass reporting” as some sort of malicious “doomsday” feature, as evident by all the users above and below claiming that “mass reporting” is solely due to “trolls” or “jealousy” or other users misusing the reporting system.
Yes, there are people who just report projects for no reason. Yes, there are people who are jealous of fame.
But I think most of the “mass reporting” that occurs is due to legitimate reports. Let me explain. A game like Splatoon is a shooting game — yes, it is appropriate and nonviolent since paint is used — but it's a shooting game nonetheless. So when somebody sees a Splatoon game, they might think it's violent since it involves shooting and, knowing that some projects which involve shooting are not allowed, they will report the project for being too violent for Scratch. I wouldn't say that this user is “trolling” or “jealous” — they are legitimately using the reporting system for something that ultimately is okay for Scratch. This is totally fine, for the Scratch Team encourages you to report projects if you're not sure whether or not they're appropriate.
This sort of legitimate reporting was pretty common back when I was a Scratch Team member.
It's these sorts of reports that I never took action against. If you believe a project is violent and you want to bring it to the Scratch Team's attention, you should report it. If it turns out that the project is okay, you shouldn't get alerted for “false reporting” a project. “False reports” usually refer to reports like “This game is too hard” or “adgsfvjhbeLDIKVJNASDV” or something else like that. Reporting a project that you believe to be inappropriate, in most cases, is encouraged and shouldn't be punished.
The reason why “mass reporting” as a feature exists in the first place is to prevent inappropriate projects from being displayed for too long. If they're not inappropriate, a Scratch Team member will reshare it soon enough.

The policy on guns is a bit ambiguous. It is possible to make a project with non-realistic guns that is still too violent for Scratch. It all depends on the context of the rest of the project — and the appropriate context for some Scratchers do not necessarily align with the appropriate context for Scratch Team members. but in the comunity guideliness its allowed to use non realistic guns

Sometimes people mass report because of some sort of drama/argument between them and the person who made the project, and other times the mass reporters might be jealous because of how good the project they're mass reporting is why do projects get mass reported???though Scratch isn't some competition to be the best coder/artist/animator
Sometimes it might be because they have different opinions/views on things. There could be other reasons such as the ones said above.

Actually, the owner claimed that he was reported for not giving credit to Nintendo for the original, music the ST doesn't have time to check small things such as a tiny credits section being placed in the top corner, instead of the designated credits section. The policy on guns is a bit ambiguous. Misquote. Also, I mean the people who “troll” by spamming bad stuff, mass report, or things like that. If that quote was true, why would DGR enjoy troll levels?that trolls are actually bullies pretending to be trolls

Well, you need to give proper credit for all the assets you use that someone else made. Actually, the owner claimed that he was reported for not giving credit to Nintendo for the original, music the ST doesn't have time to check small things such as a tiny credits section being placed in the top corner, instead of the designated credits section.
