Nah, I prefer blue for the profile picture. Also, some people hate the purple profile picture trend, and might accuse people with no profile picture of having joined the trend, which would cause unwanted confusion.

Sorry but I'm going to say no. Why? Because this would lead to a lot of hate or maybe even backlash if it wasn't an option. I think this is the best choice for the purple update below.

How about the user can choose between a short list of default profile pictures when they sign up for Scratch? That seems the best compromise.

I agree with this, as you can customize the way you want your default profile picture to be on your Scratch account. This is a great alternative solution to the suggestion.

Even just aside from any arguments about backlash and consistency and whatnot — and remember that I support the purple navbar change — this does not mean that literally everything blue on Scratch must change to purple. In this case, we are talking about the default image of a profile picture. There is nothing to read there, so I would argue there is no accessibility issue as a result (but I could be wrong about this).
