It does look nice, but this is literally the definition of logo oversimplification

the current one's font and the up-and-down letters kind of fit the aesthetic of Scratch, it shows you creativity

the logo you are suggesting is just the word “scratch” with a bold outline around it

The scratch logo looks fine

oversimplification isn’t what people wanted
as it takes away the design that stands out
from other designs and doing it makes it
much more generic
also the logo is too iconic

If people really didn’t like how the blue navigation bar was changed to purple, how do you think people would react to the logo change, especially considering that changing the logo is not necessary and does not help make the site more accessible?

I do like it, pretty neat and modern (I kinda like being modern) but the thing is it looks too modern compared to the text fonts, etc. of the website:

So, if you want to change the logo, you need to change the font design, etc. of the whole website to make it look modern and neat.
