Let me explain.
After Dave recovered from the horrors of P.R.A.E.M, he remembered a project he was working on a few years back that allowed him (and others) to back up their memory on a computer. He called it 'M.I.S.C". M.I.S.C is short for:

(Misc is also an abbreviation of ‘miscellaneous’, meaning ‘of various types’)
After a few weeks of finishing his unfinished project, Dave finally tested M.I.S.C on himself. After one minute of mild electrical pain (imagine getting shocked by your car door), he completed an archive of his memory.
