Or the creation of the wombo combo. Thus locking the player in I faced a sonic and the cheapest thing happened. He would throw me upward and jump and do up-A and his legs would kick me higher, before I had time to react. Then he would do his up-B to jump higher and would kick me up a second time while it was impossible for me to dodge. The Juggle Effect
The one thing that annoys me a TON about this game is that lots of characters have move combinations that are impossible to avoid since your character has not come to senses before the opponent strikes again.

yep. I faced a sonic and the cheapest thing happened. He would throw me upward and jump and do up-A and his legs would kick me higher, before I had time to react. Then he would do his up-B to jump higher and would kick me up a second time while it was impossible for me to dodge.

True Combos, as they're known in the competitive community, can be extremely annoying to combat, since they're designed to be IMPOSSIBLE to escape. even worse, not every character has them, and how difficult they are to escape largely depends on who you play as.
Like you said, @turkey3, Sonic in particular has an extremely frustrating T.C that tends to be spammed a lot, but SURPRISE!
sometimes that can be helpful.
okay, let's say you're fighting a Sonic user, and you notice that She/he spams that particular combo.
now, you could run towards them, then roll at the last second.
chances are, he/she will be tricked into trying to grab you.
here's where you have to be quick:
IMMEDIATELY after your roll finishes, you could run towards them and use your dash attack.
chances are, they won't be able to move because of the end-of-grab animation.
so, you'll be able to counter!
hope that helps you.

Okay, guys. Stop the spam. I only did a blank one 'cause of:
I got confused, said “64th post? LIAR!” and realised he was taking about the posts he created… NINTENDO 64TH POST!
AFTER THE POST WAS SHARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I had no other choice besides reporting and saying I wanted it deleted except for replacing it with a single space. Okay?

But seriously, Nintendo needs to push an update for these combos. I could whoop so many more people online if they didn't do this. BTW I crush people with jigglypuff. They rage quit XDyep. The smash series is actually the story of a young boy (sakurai) playing with nintendo plush toys, becoming a teen and creating Kirby, becoming an adult and coming to terms with the fact that yes, he makes video games, and no, not call of duty, and finally, getting tired of constant sequels. This was a game theory episode, but I can't post the link because I'm on mobile.
