this is just a relic of how the scratch website used to work. if you add a curator to a studio, the site creates a notification that used to be automatically displayed on the studio page, but since it was redesgined, it doesn't do that anymore - if the next page you load is the forums, the ‘notice’ appears there instead.

They may need to patch that cuz I got really freaked out about it because I thought it was gonna do something but I guess not.

It will eventually be patched, but this is currently not a priority.
