Why is my follower count suddenly decreasing? Also how do I get everyone who unfollowed to refollow?

I think that might be because people are unfollowing you. It seems like you already know the answer.

Unfollowing people is not against the community guidelines so no one has to refollow you. I would really suggest not forcing people to refollow you as that is against the community guidelines.

Okay, but why do they want to unfollow anyways?

Maybe they're just deleting their accounts.

Its their opinion you cant force them.

Looking through your profile, it seems people may have thought you moved to you alt permanently. Did you see the same drop in followers on your alt?

I never moved to a different account, and when I created my alt I didn't have so many followers on my main.

Because they can.

They are allowed to.

We have already told you on one of your previous forum posts about unfollowing.

Or they might just be bored, I unfollow people all the time once they become unactive or I get bored of their projects.

It's mostly this, from my experience.
Very few will actually deliberately unfollow, unless maybe you were to do something really unfavourable to them.

I've done analyses on my own followers.
3 months ago with 7.3k followers I generated a list of unfollowers by comparing the list of followers from months earlier.
There were only 37 who did so.
Compare that with the total unfollowers including deleted accounts, which is a total of about 700.

Since I know who unfollowed me, can I get any more infomation out of it? I didn't ask them but looking at their profiles, generally they unfollow many users at a time and want to either have very few or none in their following list. There were a few others I interpret as simply being uninterested in what I create, for example some may want to exclusively follow animators.

Because followers come followers go. I lose followers sometimes and I don't really care. If you think about it. It's just simple digital numbers and nothing really wrong if an unfollow happens.

unless you're somehow making money off of your followers (impossible), i wouldn't worry about it.

For certain reasons I am closing this topic.
