How did this get featured?
(removed by moderator - please don't single people out)
Okay, before we even start, yes, I am mad. I am very mad.
How did this project get featured?
You can give me plenty of reasons. “Oh, well, it was original…”
“It had lots of effort put in…”
No. No, it didn't. Look at those single shade costumes. LOOK AT THEM. They barely resemble (removed by moderator) because of the obvious copy-cat configuration. Which is alright.
Wait, no it's not. Because that means that project doesn't reserve the recognition that loads of non-featured projects do.
I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point.

…
Why are you mad? The ST features whatever they want to feature. In this case, they featured a fun oreo project where the user gets to make cookies.
I don't see the problem.

There's no reason to get mad. The Scratch Team can feature anything they want. The game is just a project which you can make Oreos! Also, the post you made might make the creator sad.

He/she should realize, then, that this is really just me venting out my anger at a loooong line of feature projects that don't deserve the title.
Especially cheerio the herio.
I think “The scratch team can feature anything they want” Is an invalid argument because it doesn't affect what I'm saying. You guys are kind of circumventing my point here.
*Note to the creator of “make your own oreos”: Those resemble macarons more than oreos.

Don't get me wrong, I love oreos. 1. No reason to argue against the Scratch Team.
2. Go look at this. One of the things the ST is looking for is simple projects….SIMPLE PROJECTS…
Also, different kinds of people would find this enjoyable. Not that many people don't like Oreos.
EDIT: And simple projects are okay. When they have ACTUAL EFFORT put into them.

The Scratch Team reserves the right to feature anything they want. It doesn't matter whether or not the project meets the criteria to be featured.

Still circumventing my question. The Scratch Team reserves the right to feature anything they want. It doesn't matter whether or not the project meets the criteria to be featured.

The question was “how did it get featured”. You'd have to ask the ST directly, not any other member, as the ST makes the decision.

Hey, I like the Oreo project. It's a fun thing for kids and shows just one of the things Scratch can be used for. People can enjoy suggesting their ideas for cookies (which taps into the Scratch community spirit) and make fun flavours. People are enjoying it, so why are you complaining?

you're really looking bad by criticizing a kid's work because it doesn't your meet your standard of effort, and really really looking bad when you do it in front of everyone.

This is just rude. Constructive criticism is okay in Scratch, because it helps improve projects. But if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. No need to get jealous. It's really hard to be featured, and the main reason Scratch has featured projects are to show cool projects to the community. It doesn't have much to do with your standard of effort. I've worked really hard on some projects that never got featured. Such as my City Street Racer, which never got featured. If the only reason you work hard on something in Scratch is to get featured, you're in for a load of disappointment, because a featured project is like a winning lottery ticket on Scratch. Being featured shouldn't be your goal. Not even getting views. It should be just to learn more about programming. I've learned lots of new ways to program, efficiently, without being featured or being jealous of other projects that get featured.

How did this get featured?
It's a good project and much better than anything I could possibly do. It doesn't have to be complex, a project that took 30 seconds to make can be featured. What matters is if it's good. If you judged your enjoyment on games purely based on the scripts, then how could we enjoy simple classic games like Pong or Maze?

Awesome, where? I'd like to suggest it to be featured (if it meets the requirements) A raycaster where you can trade with NPCs, eat cookies, make custom coffees

Well, the Scratch Team can really feature anything they want. You can't stop that from happening. He/she should realize, then, that this is really just me venting out my anger at a loooong line of feature projects that don't deserve the title.
Especially cheerio the herio.

It doesn't matter whether or not the project is simple, whether it has “bad” quality or not. The Scratch Team has reasons for featuring a project.
If you think something can improve, you can always give constructive criticism and suggestions on how the project can improve. But making a topic to complain about a project getting featured because it “does not deserved to be featured” and criticizing the project owner is not respectful and will not in any way get that project off the featured row.

First sentence: STOP INSULTING YOURSELF! YOU PROBABLY COULD DO BETTER THAN THAT! EVEN THOUGH I DON'T KNOW YOU!
And all pong games on scratch use the ugly trash that the ST put in the sprite library!
All arguments here are just pathetic. A raycaster where you can trade with NCP's, eat cookies, make custom coffees OR a 2D, basic cookie making game? A project… WHY DO WE HAVE TO USE THIS STUPID SLANG! What is so bad about the word notifications or…
Post ended for obvious reasons.
I'm not insulting myself. And, simple games like Candy Crush and Flappy Bird have gone viral all over the world. Arcade games can be fun like any game can be.

I was just saying… But it's possible. You can make a raycaster. You can add all the other things, just take a look at griffpatch.

How did this get featured?
The Scratch Team thought it showed a good use of Scratch so they featured it. We feature many different kinds of projects made by Scratchers of many different experience levels. Our hope is that some of the projects will appeal and perhaps inspire others. If you don't find one particular project appealing, that is not surprising - just move on to the next
Now, since this topic singles our a particular project, rather than discusiing the featuring process in general, I will attempt to remove the identifying remarks so the author doesn't feel like you are attacking their project. It was the Scratch Team's decision alone - there is no need to single people out.
