The idea for April Fools is to add a sound of a Glue Gunner when a filterbot mutes you, and in addition, the messages for getting muted is changed from something like “It appears that your most recent comment didn't follow the Scratch Community
Guidelines.” to “Whoops, you got splodged by a MOAB Glue because of <specific Community Guidelines violation>” because I remember the rodent glue got on me when I was a kid

BTW, this is the second idea for 2024 April Fools day, so like always with April Fools ideas, it goes back to normal after April 1st, 2024 is ended

Comment mutes are supposed to be serious. I don't think this would be a good idea.

read this post title, this is for april fools and I think the idea of add fun nonsense to serious ones like comment mutes and project removals by ST are almost always rejected unless it is for April Fools Day

But that doesn't change the fact that mutes are serious. The ST changes things that have no consequences when changed(at least that's what I believe). The AFD wiki has no consequence because it links to the normal original useful wiki. The cat blocks have no consequences as it's just a little design change. If this suggestion is implemented, chances are, the user who got muted will take it as a joke and keep continuing what they're doing.

This is going to cause a lot of filterbot chaos. People will purposely type things like discord or a bad word into the filter. They can do too much of it and get banned as well.

As others said before, it is the fact that some people who got muted on April Fools Day (assuming this suggestion is implemented) take it as a joke but that's an exaggeration although it does exist to the some extent

Hopefully it is not in the case when April 1st, 2024 drops since many people don't know about this suggestion being implemented (as always, ST don't tell the jokes before April 1st)

If a “mute” were to be seen as satire, barely anybody would be enticed to stop, even on April Fools' day.

Safety and security measures would still have to be enforced on April Fools' day.

yeah, the curiosity might come from the videos of this type that might pop up when the suggestion is implemented

Let me get this straight: People who get in trouble are pranked, but other people aren't. (Unless they purposely get muted.)

I don't think it's a good idea to include a feature to encourage Scratchers to break the rules.

Even though this is only for April Fools, Comment mutes are meant to be serious and by adding this update, it makes Comments mutes look fun and this would lead to Scratchers purposely typing muted words (Like Discord, TikTok, etc), which means the filterbot would be overworked from handing out a lot of alerts as of a result of this update being added.

While I certainly agree with this above, the question is it possible to change something meant to be serious like comment mutes, bans, project takedowns by ST, etc. (for April Fools day only) to look fun without actually encouraging Scratchers to break rules?

Yeah, people might get confused about BTD6/BTDB2 references, thinking there is a glue version of a biggest bomb when it is about an upgrade of a non-lethal adhesive weapon that slows down zeppelins.

Then people would all want to find the easter egg for themselves, so they would just try to break the rules. Imagine if the filter quit working right then…
