Gravity Falls Fanfiction "The Portal"
(Hey everyone! When you go onto my profile you can find chapter one for this series, though I will also be writing it here. This story takes place the episode “Not What He Seems”, and won't contain some events that took place in that episode. This fanfiction will actually be all about “what if's” and different character's P.O.V.'s. If you don't like/watch Gravity Falls, that may make enjoying this a bit harder for you. Please enjoy.“
”Trust Me“ (369 words)
Chapter 1 (Dipper P.O.V.)
A moment where everything is in motion, yet everything seems to remain still. Time stands frozen as the timer ticks down to the final second. Light from the triangular shaped portal illuminates the room, with its rainbow of colors. I'm pinned to the middle of the wall with only one thought on my mind, ‘don’t do it, Mabel'. All I can do is scream out her name, begging her to trust me. Begging her to trust her twin brother whom she's known her whole life, and has spent every second of every moment with. She's gotta trust me…right? I think to myself.
A man who we've spent the summer with is also calling out my sister's name. But he's calling out her name for a different reason, he wants her to let go and release her grip on the button. A button which was said to shut down the portal and stop the end of the world. Mabel has her foot stuck to a string connected to the button on a stick stuck out having that as the only thing keeping her from floating up to the ceiling. She stares at me and our Grunkle Stan. If we could even call him that anymore. We had learned the truth of how many fake identities he kept, how many lies he's told, and he'd either faked his own death or…he'd killed our real Grunkle and had taken his place. A shiver ran down my spine at the thought. ”Mabel! Please! You have to trust me! Just do it!“ I scream, gaining her attention. She has tears in her eyes, she seems indecisive of what to do, trust me, her twin brother, or trust a man who's a possible sociopath and murderer.
What's taking her so long? Just press the button. She looks back to the man whom we'd been living in the same house as for the summer. He's giving Mabel the same pleading eyes that I was wearing, but they seem to have hints of…worriment. Why was he scared of shutting down the portal? If we let the portal do its designed purpose, it would cause the end of the world.
”Do I look like a bad guy?!“ Grunkle Stan yells to Mabel, and I almost scoff. He sounded pathetic, trying and saying anything to convince Mabel to listen to him. She stares at him with nervous eyes, then takes a deep breath.
”Grunkle Stan…“ I freeze. No, this can't be happening. I think to myself with a tear that flows down my face. ”..I trust you.“ And she lets go.
”No!!“ Bright lights blind me as the portal gains a new layer of illumination, Mabel has a look of astonishment, as the colorful lights surround her. I bring my hand to my face to block the blinding light from my eyes, and I hear a machinery grumble and gasp mixed with a scream that sounds like my sister.
There's no audio in all of the chaos. The bright lights disappear, I fall to the floor as does Soos and Grunkle Stan, and I look over to the now inactive portal. There's a man standing in the blue dim light that's emitted from the broken machine. His hair is messy, he's about as tall as Grunkle Stan, and he has glasses that reflect the debris on the ground and that surrounds us. He looks mysterious, someone that looks truly interesting, but there was only one thought on my mind, only one question that I wanted answered, only one thing that was bringing tears to my eyes…
Where's Mabel?
”Where's…wh-where's Mab-el?“ My voice
cracks and tears stream down my face, trickling down my neck, and wetting my shirt. I run over to the last place I saw her, and that just so happens to be where the man who just stepped out of the portal is. I drop to my knees after stumbling on some broken concrete floor, my knees are scratched and probably bleeding, but I pay no attention.
”M-mabel?“ She's nowhere to be seen and the mysterious man is looking down at me with confusion. Suddenly Grunkle Stan comes running toward the man and he attempts to hug him, before the man pushes him away.
”Stanley!? What is this?! I thought I told you that reopening the portal was dangerous! And who is this boy and the ground?! Did you hurt him too by what you've done?!“
”Jeez Stanford, I was trying to save you. I think that a little apology and a thank you are in order.“
”An apology, let alone a thank you, is definitely not in order! I want to know why in the world you reopened the portal when I specifically said that it was dangerous. Especially after I accidentally went through it all those years ago!“
My head is spinning and my head aches from all the yelling and the machines blaring their warning call. Mabel…she'd…she went through the portal. That's the only logical explanation. I look at the broken portal, my tears blurring my vision. I stand up preparing to run towards the portal. I have to get her back.
Before I can get anywhere, the man who had been identified as…wait a second…Grunkle Stan called him Stanford. But that was his name, right? He had his hand on my shirt holding me back from heading into the portal, and I turned my head to look at him.
”Who…who are you?“ My voice cracks a bit and tears are still falling down my face.
Before the man can answer, Grunkle Stan speaks up.
”He's the author of the journals…my brother."

Gravity Falls Fanfiction "The Portal"
Here is chapter two of the previous chapter, for the Gravity Falls Fanfiction: “The Portal”
“He's Back” (996 words)
Chapter 2 (Stanley P.O.V.)
My brother was finally back and the first thing he did was yell at me for saving him.
Thanks a lot sixer. He was giving me an awful look that reminded me of our father when he was disappointed in me. (Which was mostly all the time). Dipper is staring at me with the most confused and baffled look in all of history, and I know that along with my twin brother he wants an explanation. I stare at them with a defeated look, and put my hands up.
“Alright alright, all of this can be explained.” Suddenly a voice that cut through the air like a knife came from below, and I saw it was from Dipper.
“You better have an explanation.” His jaw is chattering and boy,…if looks could kill. His eyes are red from crying and he looks like he just got hit by a bus.
I flinch by how…dark up he looks.
“Wow kid, what's got you so messed up, I know I told a few lies and hid some stuff from you and your sister…speaking of which, where'd she go?”
“She's gone!! All…because…of you!! She went through the portal!! Because she believed you stupid lies!”
“Who went through the portal?!” Stanford looks at me looking really mad and I stutter for an explanation..at best just words.
“She…went through the portal?”
“YES!!” His voice is rugged and he's staring at me with a look that says ‘You’re so stupid for not noticing the obvious'. Wow thanks kid. A part of me feels like it's fallen to the floor, I've got my brother back, but just lost my great niece.
“Who's Mabel!?” My twin looks at me with concern, but it's not for me, it's for Mabel.
“She's my twin sister.” Dipper grumbles, and I answer Stanford.
“Mabel is his twin sister, she's also our great niece.” A shocked look slaps across Stanford's face, and I continue. “He's our great nephew.” I motion my hands to Dipper.
“Yes Stanley, I know how it works.” He says in a very harsh tone.
“So…who are you?” Dipper says ‘you’ in a very disgusted tone. “And why do you look so much like him?” He says ‘him’ in an even more disgusted tone and I mentally take a punch to the gut.
“I'm Stanley's twin brother, Stanford.” By now, Ford's directed his full attention to Dipper and I can only watch. “It's nice to meet you Dipper.” He leans down to shale Dipper's hand and Dipper hesitates.
“You have…six fingers.”
“Ahh yes, that's been a little quirk of mine since I was born. Though it made for quite a symbol in my collection of journals.”
“Journals!?” I literally already mentioned he was the author. Was no one paying attention to me?
“Uh..yes. I've researched and discovered what were once believed to be mythical creatures and documented them in the journals.”
“Yeah! I've read the third one! And I've actually found a lot of the species mentioned, and many more!”
“I actually highly doubt that, I spent years researching Gravity Falls, that was until someone got me sent through a portal!” Ford stands up and directs his attention back to me while Dipper still has a very disgusted look directed toward Ford.
“It was an accident! And that happened thirty years ago!! You should actually be thanking me for saving you!
”I am not thanking you. You ‘saving me’ was merely you fixing your mistake! I shouldn't be thanking you for cleaning up your own mess!“ I scoff. Of course he's like this.
”I'm not the one who opened the portal in the first place! You made it and it started malfunctioning so you asked me for help. Trust me, none of this is my fault. All I did was help you. All of this,“ I motion to all of the machines and the portal. ”was for you!“.
Dipper begins to speak before Ford gets the chance to. ”Why should he trust you!? Why should I trust you!? You lied to me,“ He holds a hand to his chest. ”..you lied to him,“ He points to Ford. ”And worst of all…YOU lied to MABEL!! And she believed you! She trusted you!! Not me! Not her twin brother! No! She trusted you!!“ I've never seen Dipper so upset before, and honestly…it's kinda terrifying.
”I'm sorry Dipper, I really didn't mean for this to happen.“
”Well, it DID! And it's all your fault!“
”Alright, alright, that's enough, I know I hurt you but that's enough yelling.“
”No Stanley, I think the boy has a point.“ He puts a hand on Dipper's shoulder and looks down at him with a pitiful look like he's an innocent child.
”Dipper's just a kid, and you just lost him to his sister!“
”Dipper's also more mature than you think he is Ford, he's probably even smarter than you! Unlike you he hasn't accepted any world threatening deals with a demon.“
”W-well. I mean it wasn't world threatening.“ Dipper's stutters out.
”You've met a demon!? What did he look like?“ Ford drops to the ground and puts both his hands on Dipper's shoulders.
”His name was Bill Cipher. He's a yellow trian-“
”You met Bill Cipher! He's a maniac! A syco! If you've read my journals then you know that he's dangerous and mustn't be trusted!“
”I know, I've read them. But he was helping me figure out who you were and all the secrets to Gravity Falls, but he ended up possessing my body an-“
”Ugh, it's fine. Just don't trust him, he's already caused too much damage.“ Dipper looks at him annoyed.
”Hey, Sixer, Dipper was still talking to you.“ I looked annoyed at him, and slightly felt bad for Dipper for my brother’s rudeness.
”We don't have time, does anyone else know about what's going on down here?“
”Umm…only me and Dipper and… the whole entire government.“ I mumble out that last part and look down.
”What!?" He screams at me.

Gravity Falls Fanfiction "The Portal"
(Here is chapter three to the previous chapters to the Gravity Falls fanfiction “The Portal”, please remember to read the previous chapter before continuing.)
Goo-like (713 words)
Chapter 3 (Stanford P.O.V.)
Great the whole entire government knows. That's just what I should expect from Stanley. “The whole government?! Stanley, what were you thinking!? Clearly you weren't!”
“Calm down Ford, they only know that I was up to something down here. They don't actually know about the portal.”
“Fine let's get this over with. I'll convince them that everything is fine and maybe we can get out of this mess without ending up in prison.”
“I actually already did that today.” Stanley chuckles. “And escaped.” I groan mentally and rub my temples.
“C'mon let's go.” I head over to the elevator. As I'm walking over I looked down and noticed a large man on the ground. He didn't seem injured, so I decided not to worry about him and continued toward the elevator.
“Soos!” I hear the boy yell, and I turn around. He leaned over the man on the ground, and tried to shake him awake. “Soos! Wake up!” I hear a groan then a different voice that comes from the larger man that’s still on the ground.
“Wh-what happened. Last thing I remembered was being stuck to the wall.”
“I guess you passed out Soos, I’ll explain everything to you later.” Dipper sighs.
I’m waiting by the elevator for everyone, and it's taking centuries for them to get over here. “I’m waiting.” I say to the group.
“Wow and you're just as impatient as I remember too. Maybe even more if that's even possible.” My brother remarks.
“Oh shut up Stanley, you’ve got flaws that are worse than being impatient. I just want us to get up there before they get down here.” I roll my eyes, everyone enters the elevator and I press the buttons to make us go up.
We arrive upstairs and I can’t help but internally groan at what my twin brother’s done with the place, it looks like a tourist shop. We go outside and I see police cars and FBI cars parked, while men with suits and ties are surrounding the house while holding guns. Stanley, you never were good at keeping a secret. “Don't worry everyone!” I make a speech about how everything is fine, and assure everyone how everything is normal here. I convince them by showing all of my STD's and other ‘badges I’ve gotten from being smart’ as Stanley would call it.
I looked back at the group, they had a mixture of expressions, the man who had been called “Soos” was looking confused as ever, Stanley was looking upset and…pleased? Dipper…he looked mad, not mad like someone took his sandwich, but mad like someone killed his dog. His dog that he’d known all his life and loved with all his heart…hmm wonder what that’s for. Oh wait..he’s probably mad because his sister got sucked into the portal. Well he’ll have to get over it, because unlike Stanley, we are NOT opening that portal again.
“Alright everyone! We’re all clear here!” The police officers announced and all of the cop cars and vans left. At least that’s out of the way now. Now to make sure I wasn't the only one to go through that portal. I walked down to the basement once again, motioning for no one to follow me.
I arrived down stairs in the basement, looking around the portal looking for anything out of the ordinary, anything that seemed to have out of the ordinary magical properties. Then as I thought, I looked down near the portal to find a goo-like substance that definitely matched the description I was looking for. “Gotcha.” I say. Going back over to the Laboratory portion of my lab, I grab a case made of a special and thick glass, and go back over to the goo-like substance. I scoop it up in the sphere-shaped container, and seal it closed. “I’ll analyze you later.” I say to it, as if it can hear me.
I bring it to my lab and set it in a drawer with a lock, that way making sure no one can get to it. I set a combination on the lock, that only I would know. “Now not even Bill Cipher himself will be able to get to it, if it happens to be that he needs it.”

Gravity Falls Fanfiction "The Portal"
(Here is chapter four to the previous chapters to the Gravity Falls fanfiction “The Portal”, please remember to read the previous chapter before continuing.)
“It's Your Fault” (1,846 words)
Chapter 4 (Dipper P.O.V.)
It's his fault, he tricked Mabel. It’s her fault, She believed him. It’s my fault, I failed Mabel. “It’s your fault. It’s all your fault.” Voices in my head chant. “Blame yourself. Blame them. Blame someone. She’s gone because of you. It’s your fault. She trusted your great uncle, not you. It’s your fault. It’s all your fault.” “Shut up.” I whisper. But I know that the voices are right, it is my fault. But Mabel also should have believed me…not him. “She’s gone. You're never going to see her again because you were stupid. You’re never going to see her again because your new-found Grunkle thinks you're stupid, he thinks that it’s dangerous. HE thinks that you're just a kid.” The voices are getting louder. Multiple voices yelling in my mind, multiple thoughts running around causing mayhem in my mind. Then one thought catches my attention. “Prove him wrong.” I freeze. Grunkle Ford thought that I was just a kid, he'd said that. “Prove..him..wrong.” I smiled. I'll prove him wrong. I thought to myself.
At that moment, Ford started walking back into the shack and held up hand for no one to follow. I scoffed. Of course he's keeping secrets from the rest of us. He probably didn't think we're ‘smart enough’ or ‘worthy enough’. I'll show him. As he heads down into the bunker, I follow him. It seems like the sensible thing to do after all, he just got here, and he's already not telling us things that we should probably know.
I follow him down to the basement, making sure that I stay quiet and out of sight. I watch as Ford goes into the portal area, he looks around, when suddenly he leans down and looks at what seems to be the ground. I see him turning around, and I hide behind one of the cabinets. He opens a drawer and takes out some kind of container, then goes back over to where he once stood. I stare intensely, trying to figure out what it is that he’s looking at.
He picks up the thing he was looking at with the container, and it looks like some kind of goo sloshing around in the container. Sparkles dance around in it, looking like the stars in the sky, they glow. The goo its-self, is like a purple mixed with a black, like a galaxy color.
“Gotcha.” I tilt my head, who was he talking to? “I’ll analyze you later.” He says to what seems to be himself, but it looked kinda like he might’ve been speaking to the goo-like substance. Ford walks back over to the laboratory, and I make sure to hide myself well. He puts the lid on the container, then sets it in a drawer with a lock. It can’t be that dangerous. I think to myself. He puts in a code that I barely manage to see. 2R120. What’s so special about those numbers and letters? Maybe it's a code. Yea, probably a code.
“Now not even Bill Cipher himself will be able to get to it, if it happens to be that he needs it.” Bill? Why would he need it? Now I gotta know what that thing is. As he turns, I worry he’ll see me, but surprisingly enough, he doesn't. He passes right by me without noticing me spying on him from behind the counter. Wow, and I thought I was oblivious sometimes. After he leaves through the elevator, I walk over to the drawer he placed the container in, and I look at the lock. I enter in the code he’d put in before, and I’m able to open the drawer. There I see the container, and I pick it up. As I see it closer, and actually have it in my hands…it feels…weird. Like it has some kind of..feeling. It felt like when Bill took over my body, that power that he had. Whatever this thing was in this container was, it was definitely full of power. I placed it back in the drawer and put the lock back on it that way Ford wouldn’t get suspicious.
I exit through the elevator, but look around before exiting. I don’t want to get caught, especially not by Ford. Seeing that no one was around, I left the elevator and crept up to mine and Mabel's room. I sighed. Mabel. When was she coming back? Would I ever get her back? And why didn't she trust me? That question really bothered me. She had trusted Grunkle Stan instead of me, and I have no idea why. He had been lying to us, and Mabel and I have been sticking together for our whole entire life. So why did she trust him?
Then it hit me. It's her fault that she's gone. It's her fault she went through that portal. She trusted Stan, not me. She's the one who let go, not me. I looked over to Mabel's bed, all of her posters, her scratch n' sniff stickers, her stuffed animals, her pile of sweaters, and waddles that had apparently followed me up here. I saw a picture of us side by side, the picture was sitting on her nightstand. I walked over to her nightstand and picked up the framed photo. “It's all your fault, Mabel.” I said aloud. “It's all your fault.”
Suddenly the door opens, and I hear footsteps behind me. The footsteps sound like they're trying to be gentle on the ground, I can already tell who it is before they speak.
“Hey kid.” Grunkle Stan. “I heard you talking in here, and…I wanted to make sure you were…ok.” I stay silent, and I can feel his eyes drilling a hole in the back of my head. His footsteps continue, and while I'm still looking down at the picture, I see his feet standing beside me. I see his head tilt to look at the picture I'm holding and he lets out a sigh. “I'm sorry about Mabel. I know how it feels to lose a sibling..” I don't really know what to say. I don't know what I'm supposed to say, or how I'm supposed to feel. I'm mad at him for convincing Mabel to trust him, I'm mad at him for keeping secrets from me and Mabel.
He set a hand on my shoulder, and immediately I tore away. “Don't touch me.” He looked taken aback from my reaction, but he then swapped to a look that said ‘I pity you’.
“Look Dipper. I know you're upset that your sister's gone, but please don't take it on me.” He paused to see how I reacted, but then continued. “I miss her too.”
“You said that you'd lost your sibling too.” I began, without making eye contact. “But now he's back, and he's a jerk. Mabel wasn't, and if she was here right now…” I turn my head to stare him in the eyes. “Then she would probably agree.”
“Dipper, it's not my fault that my brother can be a bit…harsh…sometimes.” He hesitated to say more, but then began to leave the room.
“She trusted you.” I whisper, and the footsteps behind me pause.
“What's it Dipper?” He said in his scruffy voice. At that moment, I don't know what came over me but for some reason, I was really mad. I was mad at everything he had done, and he hadn't even apologized once.
“She trusted…you.” I said, making my voice clear and getting louder by the word. “She trusted…you! The man who's been lying to us, and the man who's been arrested!” I turn around to face him, and I realize that tears are starting to form in my eyes. “She didn't trust me! She trusted you!”
“Kid, chill. There's no need to get so upset, I know you're mad because of Mabel. I'm sad it happened too. But we can't change the past, and so we might as well try our best to move on. But I can promise you Dipper,” He pauses and steps closer to me. “No matter what my brother thinks or says, we will get Mabel back.”
I turn my head away disbelieving every word he says. “Yeah? Well unlike Mabel, I don't trust you.” Keeping my face turned away from him, I can still tell that he had a look of disappointment on his face.
“I'm sorry you feel that way, kid.” And he exits the room. I turn back to the door to see it shut, and as soon as the knob clicks, I fall flat on Mabel's bed and let my held up tears fall. Soon enough, sleep overcame me.
…Dream sequence…
I was in the woods. But why? It looked so peaceful, the wind swaying through the tree branches, the clouds nowhere in sight. But one odd thing was that other than the wind and my footsteps crunching on the leaves, there was no sound. No critters chirping or growling, or even other footsteps besides mine. As I was walking, suddenly the sky began to darken, and the clouds began to run in circles. How did the weather get this bad so fast?
I look up into the sky, to see a funnel cloud forming, lightning flashes inside it which is odd. The tornado finds its way down to the ground not that far in front of me. I stare at it in awe, even though I know I should be running away in terror.
A flash of light blinds me, and when I can finally see again, I see in the tornado a triangular shape. It was the color of lightning itself.
“Hahahahaha!!! Nice dream kid! It really makes a storm!” Bill…Cipher. I could recognize that voice anywhere.
“What do you want Bill?!” I called out to him. He was at the center of the tornado, which seemed like the ‘eye of the storm’.
“Oh nothing!” He responded. “I just wanted to check in on my favorite pine tree!” I was sure that if he had a mouth he would be smirking. “Where's the shooting star?” He asked teasingly. I knew that he could read minds so he probably already knew by now.
“You know where she is!! Don't mess with me, Bill!” I yelled at him getting angrier by the second.
“Oh you're right! I do know where she is! And you know whose fault it is, don't you?” He came lower to make eye contact with me, and suddenly the storm had vanished. “O'l sixer messed up a long time ago, and now his brother has made the same mistake. Ford and I actually know each other very well, we were once friends. That was until he went back on the deal we had made.” I stared at him, not knowing what to say. “Why don't you go ask him why he actually has all the knowledge he has now.”
…End Of Dream sequence…
I woke up in the morning with a pounding headache, and one thing on my mind. Bill Cipher and what he'd said about Ford.
“Siblings” (1,358 words)
Chapter 5 (Stanley P.O.V.)
I felt bad for Dipper. He'd not only lost his twin sister, but he'd lost his trust in the ones closest to him. I understood how that felt, Ford never trusted me again after his science experiment went wrong.
I was outside, sitting on the porch. The wind was a bit rough this morning, and the clouds were getting darker by the minute. Guess it's gonna storm, a perfect start to a perfect day. I roll my eyes at my own comment. There's no way that today will be any better than it was last night, especially if Dipper is still in his awful mood.
I stood up, and right as I’m about to enter the house a huge thunderclap startled me. Along with a few lightning strikes, rain follows after, and I enter the shack avoiding getting wet. Few. I shut the door behind me and see that Ford is already awake and sitting at the dining room table eating cheerios. “Oh, good morning poindexter. How’d ya sleep?” I try to speak in a goofy tone, trying to lighten the mood leftover from last night. He stays silent, then stands up to rinse out his bowl. “Alright, I know your mad at me for turning on the portal,”
“Yes, yes I am.” He says shortly and in an annoyed tone.
“..but I want you to know that I only did it for you. I just wanted my twin brother back.” He rolls his eyes and scoffs.
“Anything you ever did was always for you.” He turns around to look at me. “But did you ever think about how if that portal malfunctioned or stayed on just a little bit longer, then the whole world would’ve been in danger?” I let out a sigh. “No, no you didn’t. And that's the problem Stanley! You don't ever think, you just do!”
“Hey, sixer, you ever think that maybe in those thirty years you were gone, I changed?!” He crosses his arms and looks away in disbelief. “Sure I was a little self-minded, and wasn’t the brightest kid in school, but Dipper and his sister have changed who I am! They’ve changed my perspective, and honestly I brought you back for them! Shermie and whoever he married, think that I’m you. They think they sent them here to be with you! Not me!” I’m using my hands to direct my hands from myself to him, as I yell at him to explain what’s really been going on here, and he’s just standing there with a look of dumbfoundment. “You may think that you're the smartest guy in the world, and I’m just a screw-up,” I calm my voice, knowing that yelling won’t get me anywhere but will only get him more upset. “…well, you're right. I am a screw-up. But one thing I’ve learned is that you never give up on family. So excuuuse me for opening up the portal and making you mad, bad all I wanted was to bring my brother back.” I stare at him intensely, then look away and begin to go up to my room, but before I reach the steps, I say one last thing to him without looking back. “But clearly…I didn’t.” And I exit up the stairs.
I didn’t want to fight with my brother, believe me. But sometimes he gets a little too caught up in his own world of genius, he needs someone like me to bring him back down to earth.
I enter my room, and sit down on my bed exhausted. I got up a little early this morning, unable to get a good night’s rest. I see a picture of Dipper and Mabel on my nightstand and pick it up. It was a picture we’d taken the day they got here. I smile down at the two, having huge smiles on their faces, having no idea what this summer would bring. If they only knew.
My heart sinks down to my stomach when I see Mabel, who knew where she was. Maybe after Ford’s calmed down, I can ask him what happened when he first went through. And maybe after the conversation I just had with him, he’ll change his mind about reopening the portal. But no matter what he thinks, I will get Mabel back. For the sake of Dipper, for the sake of her parents, and for the sake of me.
*Knock knock* I hear a knock at my door, and I can’t actually decide who it is. I just had a fight with Ford, and I had a fight with Dipper last night. “Come in!” I say, granting whoever’s behind the door entry.
“Uh…Grunkle..Stan?” Dipper. Yay, maybe he’s gotten over his bad mood and wants to talk to me without yelling. “I uh…where’s..um..your brother?” Oh. Of course. He wants to talk to my brother, not me. Well, it doesn't matter. “Uh, you can call him Grunkle Ford ya know. To answer your question, um you might find him in the dining room. If not, check the basement..” I pause to think. “Though… he might not want to be bothered right now.”
“Oh…ok.” He turns to leave, but I call his name before he closes the door.
“Dipper?” He turns to look at me, with what looks like an impatient glare, and I try my best to ignore it. He probably just had a rough night, I think we all did.
“Yea?” He asks. I smile at him, trying my best to look kind, and maybe cheer him up. Seems like everyone in this house needs a bit of positivity this morning. I think to myself.
“Good morning.” I say, putting on a goofy grin that I hope will make him smile, but to my surprise, it seems to upset him more. He turns away and shuts the door behind him rather loudly. Ouch. Is everyone here upset with me? I get off my bed, and decide that it's time to open up the shop.
Walking back downstairs, I see that no one is in the dining room nor kitchen. I guess Dipper and Ford are in the basement. I get to the store portion of the building, and switch the sign from ‘closed’ to ‘open’ announcing that we were now open for business. There weren't usually many tourists when it was raining, but we would sometimes get the occasional travelers that needed umbrellas or something of the sort.
I went over to the cash register, and found a clip board that had my employee’s contact info. I found Wendy’s and used the phone on the counter to call her. Maybe she won’t be busy, and will be able to come to work. I think to myself. I dial her number.
It rings once, it rings twice, it rings three times- “Hello?” I hear a scruffy low voice, and for a second I worry I’ve called the wrong person. Then I remember that Wendy’s dad is Manly Dan, and probably has the deepest voice here in Gravity Falls.
“Yes, this is Stanley-er..Stanford. I’m Wendy’s boss, I was wondering if she could come to work today?” I’m trying to sound as chill as possible, but if I’m honest Manly Dan is as intimidating as his voice, even if it's over the phone.
“WENDY!!!” I hear a shout over the phone, and I pull it away from my ear to keep it from making me go deaf.
“YEAH DAD!?” Another voice, I’m guessing Wendy. The phone goes silent for a minute, and I worry he hung up or something.
“Yeah, she’ll be right over. Just give her a minute, the rain’s getting pretty hard outside.” I let out a sigh of relief.
“Will do, have a nice day.” I hear a grunt, and then he hangs up. Welp, at least I know I’ll have some help in the shop. Without Mabel here, and I doubt Dipper will feel like helping, I would be alone in working in the store.
I set the phone down, and I start sweeping, noticing that the floor seems a bit dirty. I’m not usually the one to do the cleaning, but for now I guess I am. Oh well, off to sweeping. “Doo to doo to doo, sweeping my store.”

Gravity Falls Fanfiction "The Portal"
(Here is chapter six to the previous chapters to the Gravity Falls fanfiction “The Portal”, please remember to read the previous chapter before continuing.)
“Research” (1,022 words)
Chapter 6 (Stanford P.O.V.)
Stanley just kept going on and on about how he thought he was correct, and how I was the one who’d made the mistake. Yea, right. I went down to my lab, to hopefully get some work done and maybe figure out what the substance that I found yesterday is.
After getting down there, I go over to the drawer that I’d placed the container that held that mysterious goo in, to find that the numbers and letters on the lock had been rearranged, revealing that it had been messed with. But who? Stanley? No. He wasn’t down here when I found this, so how would he have known? Maybe he saw the lock and tried to guess the code… Yeah that’s probably it. I think, reassuring myself that everything is probably fine.
I put in the code, and I opened the drawer to find that (thank goodness) the container was still there. I let out a sigh of relief. I take the container out of the drawer and place it on the counter, examining it carefully, when suddenly the elevator begins to rattle. Who’s coming down here? I hide the container back in the drawer, not wanting whoever’s coming down here to see it. As for now I want it to stay something I know about, just in case. For it’s something that I believe whole-heartedly that you must always ‘Trust No One”. I've written it in my journals many times.
The elevator stops, and the doors open, and at first I don’t see anyone there…until I look down. “Oh! Uh…hi..uh…” I’m blanking on what Stanley told me his name is, and I’m trying to remember, when the kid reminds me in a sorta harsh tone.
“Dipper. My name…is Dipper.” Oh! Yes, that’s what it was.
“Yes, Dipper. What are you doing down here?” I don’t know the kid very well, other than that he’s read my journals. Speaking of which. “Oh by the way, I’d like my journals back.”
“Why don’t you ask your brother?” He says in a rather snarky voice. “He copied your third journal page-by-page, and had the others.”
“Oh, ok. Well then, I guess you can keep the one you have, for now.” He stares at me with a very…weird look. “I ask again. What are you doing down here? Did you…need something?”
“I wanted to talk to you. Ask you a question.” He says clarifying what exactly he wanted. I’m a bit confused, and a bit frustrated. I didn’t come back just to answer some kid’s questions. I sit down in a chair, knowing kids, this will take forever. I motion for him to continue, though what he says surprises me. “How did you meet Bill Cipher, and what do you know about him?”
I stutter for an answer, not really knowing what to say, or how to respond to that. “Well, Bill tricked me into making a deal with him, and used me for his own selfish ways.” I’m confident in my response, also not wanting to tell this kid everything. WIthout even flinching, he continues asking me questions.
“What was your side of the deal you made with him? Grunkle Stan said you made a deal with him. What was it for?” The boy looks a bit sleep deprived, and has a bit of an…evil look in his eyes catching me off guard.
“Uh..well..I wanted knowledge, and he wanted power. He used his knowledge against me and tricked me.” I was getting annoyed by his questions, he didn’t need to know everything, especially not about Bill.
“Yes, but what did you do for him, and what did you do for him?” Alright I’m done. I answered some questions, but he’s getting waaayy to personal.
“Knock it off kid, not everything is your business, now…go read some comic books, or..something. Whatever boy’s your age do these days.” I stand up and open the elevator, and motion for both of us to enter. He steps inside and stares at the ground. What is up with this kid?
We get back above ground, and he exits first. “You know, a kid like you should be enjoying life. Not worrying about such dangerous things such as this.” He rolls his eyes, which shocks me, and he goes upstairs. I scoff at the boy’s behavior, then follow the sound of Stanley’s voice to the front part of the house.
“Alright, alright everyone can quit worrying, for I have arrived.” I see a female teenager enter through the door acting very…silly.
“Oh great! Wendy you're here! Business may be short today, but that doesnt mean I don't need help.” Stanley’s at what looks like a cash register, and is greeting who he called ‘Wendy’.
“What is this place?” I direct my question at Stanley, by the teenager wearing green plaid flannel answers my question first.
“Uh, it's the Mystery Shack?” She says it in a voice that says ‘isn’t it obvious’. “Who are you?” She asks in confusion, as she takes off her jacket and sets it on the coat rack.
“I’m Stanford Pines. Stanley is my brother.” I gesture towards Stanley.
“Hold up, I'm confused. I thought you were Stanford.” She points at Stanley. “And I never knew he had a brother.”
“There's a lot of things you don’t know about me Wendy. Now, will you restock some of the merchandise?”
“Yes sir.” She nods her head, then heads to the back of the shop.
“Stanley what is this!? Where's all my research and-and…all my experiments!?” All of my stuff was gone, and was replaced by his tourist trap shop!
“Chill out sixer, all of your nerdy research and stuff is in the basement. I just moved it so that way I could start a shop to make some money. I gotta pay the rent somehow.” He shrugs his shoulders and smiles innocently. Ugh. Stanley. Seriously?
“Whatever. Say, the kid said that you had my journals. Where are they?”
“Oh they’re in your lab, stacked up on a bookshelf in there. Don’t worry your precious research isn’t lost. I know how much they mean to you.” He rolls his eyes, and I turn away heading back to my lab, hoping to actually get some work done.

Gravity Falls Fanfiction "The Portal"
(Here is chapter seven to the previous chapters to the Gravity Falls fanfiction “The Portal”, please remember to read the previous chapter before continuing.)
“Stormy Weather” (1,692 words)
Chapter 7 (Dipper P.O.V.)
I was done with Ford and everything that he had to say. I honestly thought that the author was gonna be this amazing guy who exceeded all my expectations. When in reality he's just a stuck up jerk who thinks he's better than everyone.
When I came to Gravity Falls, all I expected was millions of mosquito bites, running for our lives from bears, and having a great time with my sister. Well, at least it worked half the time of the summer. Now I’m not quite so sure. I’d lost Mabel, I was running from a literal dream demon named Bill Cipher, and so far…wait actually yea I have been bitten by millions of mosquitos. But that was besides that point.
I had been having fun going around and exploring all of the mysterious things of Gravity Falls, but I was done with it all. I’d been possessed, almost put in child security, almost eaten by zombies (though that was my fault, since I was the one who raised them from the dead), and I didn’t want to count how many times I’d been put into life-threatening danger with Mabel. Which is one of the reasons I thought that she of all people would’ve trusted me. Who knew, all she was good for was having crushes on boys and knitting sweaters. Ha, I talk about her as if she was dead. She might as well be, she’d been dragged into an interdimensional portal that leads to who knows where. Even if I did have any chances of getting her back, that would require talking to the author of the journals, and he doesn't really like talking to “needy kids”. I roll my eyes at the thought of him.
I’m back in my room with my thoughts to myself, since I had left Ford, and no interest at the moment in talking to Grunkle Stan. I’d had enough of grown ups, after all, all they did was think they were better than kids, and underestimate us. It had been done with the cops, the secret agents, Grunkle Stan, and now his brother.
Mabel is gone, Grunkle Stan is acting even weirder than normal, and Ford well…I don't really consider him as family yet. My mom and dad are back in Piedmont, California and they have no idea what's going on. Speaking of which, how will I explain to them all of this? Mabel was always their favorite, and now she's in another dimension.
I've got to get her back, not for me, not for her, not for Grunkle Stan, but for our parents. I know that I can't rely on my new great uncle to help me, and Grunkle Stan probably wouldn't be very helpful or trustworthy. That only leaves me and maybe Mcgucket can help.
I go downstairs, deciding to go over to McGucket's science lab. I see that the twin brothers are in the shop along with Wendy who'd apparently arrived. I enter the room and grab the golf cart keys without saying a word to anyone.
“Where are you going? It's pouring outside, it'll be hard to drive the golf cart.” Wendy says to me, catching my attention. I looked out the window and noticed that indeed, it was raining.
“I'll live.” I say, not bothering to stay around any longer. As I close the door, I hear Wendy’s muffled voice say, ‘What’s up with him?’. I’ll tell you what’s up, I’m apparently the only one that cares about this stupid family. I responded to her question mentally.
Getting into the golf cart, I hear a crash of thunder as if warning me not to go. I roll my eyes. Whatever, since when has the weather in Gravity Falls made sense? I stepped on the gas pedal, making the cart move along the rocky path.
The wind was strong, and at times I’d have trouble controlling the cart. My jacket was soaked, and was wetting my short red sleeves, making me shiver from the cold. Lightning flashes in the clouds, illuminating the sky for a single second then leaving the sky pitch black once again. If it weren’t for the headlights on the gold cart, I wouldn’t be able to see the trail ahead. Suddenly, the golf cart comes to a complete halt in motion, and I’m thrown to the front of my seat. “What in the world?” I mumble under my breath. I unbuckle my seatbelt, and get out of the cart to see what had caused the sudden break. I see that the wheels are stuck in the mud, and I groan in annoyance. “Seriously?” I say in a whiny voice.
Moving to the front of the cart, I try lifting it to get it unstuck. But sadly my noodle arms had failed me once again. “After this,” I say to myself. “I’m gonna start working out more.” Suddenly a lightning flashes, and I’m blinded. When I look back again, I see that a nearby tree had been struck and was about to come crashing down. Having more intelligence than those in movies, I quickly moved to the side to avoid being smashed by the falling tree. I watch as the tumbling tree comes crashing down right on top of the golf cart, of course. “Just great. Absolutely great. Ugh, Grunkle Stan is gonna be furious.”
“If he ever finds out that is.” I hear a voice that seems like it’s coming from everywhere yet…nowhere. It has a robotic-like voice, and you can hear the smirk in its tone. I knew exactly who it was.
“Show yourself, Bill!” I grumble while looking around, trying to spot him in the midst of the trees surrounding me. I see a silhouette of a triangle in the shadows, and for a minute I think that I’ve found him. Then something taps me on the shoulder and I turn around startled.
“Chill PineTree, it’s just me! I just wanted to check in on you, see how you were doing since we last talked.” I raise an eyebrow, knowing that he’d talked to me last night in my dream. It hadn’t been that long ago.
“Yeesh, someone in a bad mood.” I roll my eyes. “Say, this is quite a storm, reminds me of the one in your dream. Though this one has got a much better feeling to it, don’t you think?”
“What are you talking about Bill?! You're crazy, now go away. I need to figure out how to get to Mc Gucket’s house, without the golf cart.” I start to walk away.
“Ugh, Fiddleford McGucket, right?” I pause in my tracks. How did he know who McGucket was?
“I’ve met him before, kid. He was your Grunkle Ford’s helper, I was never much of a fan of the guy. But anyway, Why are you heading to his house?” I roll my eyes and slightly grin at the clear annoyance in his voice.
“You got a problem with him?” He looks away with an annoyed look, but then explains.
He’s just…misunderstanding and judgy.” Wow that sounded like a two year old.
“Hey! I have my reasons! Don’t forget that I can read your mind, kid.”
“Alright, alright. Why are you here anyway? You “checked up on me” last night. I assure you, nothing has changed since then. Besides, even if something had changed, as you said, you can read my mind. Why would you bother asking me in person?” He straightens out his bow tie and clears his throat, (which confused me beyond all measure) then looks me straight in the eye.
“You're a special kid. You have an open mind about things, and you’re smarter than you think.” He flies down closer to me, and is right in front of my face.
“What do you mean? I know that I’m smart. The only person who seems to not know is Ford. He thinks I’m just ‘a kid’ which I think is stupid.”
“I agree with you, PineTree. Your knowledge has been ignored, discarded, and hasn’t made a name for you like it should’ve. That’s why I’m here.” I backed away, knowing that Bill’s intention’s could only be evil.
“I just want to help you, Pine Tree, help you succeed, help you get what you want.” I turn away, unconvinced. “I want to help you get Shooting Star back.” I freeze. “Shooting Star” That’s what he called Mabel.
“Your…gonna help me get..Mabel back?” It was too good to be true, and I knew that I needed to step carefully on this road. Bill was evil. If he wanted to make a deal, his side of the deal would always be the better bargain.
“You're right kid, I wanna make a deal. But not the kind of deal that you're thinking of.” I frown. “You see, when Sxer was younger,”
“Sixer? Wait, you mean Ford?”
“Yes, your Grunkle Ford, now may I continue?” He asks impatiently. I roll my eyes, and answer mentally. Sure. “Thank you. Now, as I was saying, when he was younger, he was always looking for the secrets of Gravity Falls. That was until when he hit a wall in his discoveries, and that’s when I took notice of him. I offered to share my knowledge with him, in exchange for him helping me with a project. I accepted the deal, as I expected him to, and I shared my knowledge with him. Though when the time came for my end of the deal to take place, he backed out and broke our deal.” I was a bit confused. Ford said that he’d met Bill, and he’d told me and had written many many times in the journals to “DON’T TRUST HIM” in red letters. Though he’d never said why. “He wasn’t afraid of me, but of my power. Now fiddleford,” He laughs at the name. “He was just a scaredy cat, now he was afraid of me.”
“And why are you telling me this?” I ask, not knowing the whole point of this story. He’d backed away a bit from where he was, and was now wearing what seemed to be a sly look. I was suspicious of whatever he could have in mind, and was nowhere near trusting him.
“Because PineTree, after all this time, I’ve been looking for a Pine’s to fulfill my deal. And PineTree, you, are just the fit.

Chapter 8 (Bill P.O.V.)
Well, well, well. Well, well, well, well, well. Look what we have here. I guess it’s my turn to tell the story.
I saw Dipper riding in his little golf cart through the woods, and decided to check in on him. I sent some lightning down to him, to get him to stop for a minute. The lightning hits a tree, and the tree comes crashing down. He dodges it, thank goodness. My use for PineTree would be pointless if he was dead, but then again it still would have been entertaining. I chuckle at the thought. I see that he’s now grumbling over his smashed cart, and I head over to him.
“Just great. Absolutely great. Ugh, Grunkle Stan is gonna be furious.” Wow, betrayed by family, and still worrying about how the others will think of him. That sure is one tough kid, and one that will fit quite nicely for the job.
“If he ever finds out, that is.” I whisper into his ears, hoping to gain his attention, and I succeed. He’s quickly looking around for what could’ve made the voice, then he calls out my name. Good job PineTree, you can recognise my voice. I get behind him while he looks distracted, and poke his shoulder startling him. “Chill PineTree, it’s just me! I just wanted to check in on you, see how you were doing since we last talked.” That’s usually how I start a conversation with this kid, it seems to get on his nerves, and I like to pick on him. He rolls his eyes at me and raises an eyebrow, and I’m surprised by the sudden bravery. I guess losing Shooting Star really did a number on him. “Yeesh, someone’s in a bad mood.” He rolls his eyes once again. The eye rolling is getting old, PineTree.
“Say, this is quite a storm, reminds me of the one in your dream. Though this one has got a much better feeling to it, don’t you think?” I try changing the subject, hoping to get a reaction out of him that isn’t an eye roll.
“What are you talking about Bill?! You're crazy, now go away. I need to figure out how to get to McGucket’s house, without the golf cart.” Ouch. What’s up with him? Demon’s have feelings too. Ha, hate and darkness, that is. Though did he just say..Fiddleford? That nerdy week guy who helped out Ford, well actually, tried to help Ford. All he did was convince Ford that he shouldn’t help me. Yea, that was annoying. He starts to walk away, and I continue talking.
“Ugh, Fiddleford McGucket, right?” This stops him in his tracks, and I continue with my words.
“I’ve met him before, kid. He was your Grunkle Ford’s helper, I was never much of a fan of the guy. But anyway, Why are you heading to his house?” I say in a bit of annoyance, at the thought of the particular man. I see that Pine tree is smirking, then he rolls his eyes. He asks if I have a problem with him, and I almost scoff at such an obvious question.
I think about my answer for a bit then respond. “He’s just…misunderstanding and judgy.”
”Wow, that sounded like a two-year-old." His thoughts are super loud, and I'm taken aback by his comment. I remind him that I have my own reasons and that I can read his mind.
