for people who want to chat abt the analog horror genre. talk abt your favorite series or video that involves an element of analog horror.

for people who don't know what analog horror is
Analog horror is commonly characterized by low-fidelity graphics, cryptic messages, and visual styles reminiscent of late 20th-century television and analog recordings. This is done to match the setting, as analog horror works are typically set between the 1960s and 1990s. It is named “analog horror” because of its aesthetic incorporation of elements related to analog electronics, such as analog television and VHS, the latter being an analog method of recording video.

I think you should make it so that very creepy analog horror is not allowed. Although I do think this is a cool thing.

GUYS did any of you see that someone turned that cotton eye joe chicken nugget meme into an ACTUAL ANALOG HORROR? Look up “Cotton Eye Tapes”. They're turning LITERAL MEMES into ANALOG HORROR videos now. WHY?
(no hate, just flummoxed)

random thoughts:
1. agamemnon counterpart should be the first analog horror not ch/ss (if i remember right)
2. the boiled one phenomenon. yaaaaaaaawn. what about the steamed one? could it be an option on days when all the boiled ones are finished? boiled or steamed? which is better? also i can't stop laughing at their videos (help)
3. tmc is not good (SORRY no disrespect intended)
4. local 58 is the least scary of them all
5. did i mention i'm practically immune to anything scary (except for sudden loud sounds)

GUYS I KNOW IT'S BEEN LIKE A WEEK AND I GENERALLY DON'T LIKE ANYTHING HORROR BUT I need to talk about a certain series that has been nagging me that I'm sure anyone who knows about analog horror will know. it's called Angel Hare. And here's my problem.
Not only is the entire story (that I won't be going into revealing detail about) not scary, I firmly don't believe it should be called an analog horror. Despite the fact that VHS tapes and VCR recorders are involved. It's really more of a supernatural drama kind of story. Because the characters in the show (especially Gabby) are actually benevolent despite having some slightly unsettling glitches. And they were actually helping Jonah (the one watching the show) with his life problems. The ACTUAL LACK of overt horror elements suggests that the story is more focused on the emotional impact of the supernatural occurrences on Jonah, rather than any actual disturbing impact. It merely combines the mundane with the supernatural. That's all I'll reveal for now.
Therefore, I believe that Angel Hare is NOT analog HORROR, but rather DRAMA. As in exploring the emotional lives of characters. Rather than scaring them. Could this be a potential new kind of genre? Could live-action/animated dramas with analog found footage elements be the next big thing? What do you guys think? Let me know!

TLDR QUESTION: The Angel Hare series is more like a drama instead of a horror due to spoilers I won't go in detail about. I know because I've watched it in its full form. Do you think analog drama could be the next big thing? Yes or no?

Same, although I haven't played the video game, but I might do so at some point. I read through your points and I mostly agree, but ARG's don't have to be scary or frightening, they can tell a story if they want to. Example: Cicada 3301 is more like a collection of puzzles telling a story, but it's still called an ARG due to having to connect the puzzle pieces together. I find Angel Hare to be a bit similar, but I do agree with you calling it “analog drama.” Maybe it could take its form in the future. But we will have to wait.

Anyone convinced that GUBY & Friends (on yt) is a disguise for a (short-lived) attempt at a content farm channel in the form of an “analog horror” ARG? They used to hide their intent by calling themselves an “educational learning series” but now they've decided to openly call themselves analog horror (there's actually nothing exactly not kid friendly about them even with the harsh glitching)
Plus if they were truly an analog horror they wouldn't be using Blender to animate, they would be emulating the art style and animation of the older educational cartoons of the past. Using Blender just makes me unable to suspend my disbelief.

i dont like how the glitch effects in it are CONSTANT
it's hard to watch because of that

also i hate people calling digital horror “analog horror” it's NOT THE SAME THING even if there are a lot of things in common

IKR???
it's like they want to give off the vibe of being mysterious and hard to figure out but it actually ends up making them look amateurish
those glitch effects that guby uses are most definitely NOT found when watching analog TV (i know because i grew up watching one and i've seen how the screen acts up when the signal gets messed up)
DIGITAL HORROR is definitely a better name to describe guby in my opinion
