It's likely because the mascot sprites are intended to be “genderless” so that anyone can use them in any way they like. For example, Scratch Cat could be made to be a princess or a king, without any issues of claiming that Scratch Cat is being portrayed as the “wrong gender.”

Hmm… okay. That does sound interesting, but what about keeping out most of the information about Scratch Mascots if ST makes it public to the foundation that way?

Yeah- is this an imagination thing? If we put all the pieces together, all scratch members use different pronouns for scratch cat, it can't be no coincidence that it will be the same thing.
