Could you allow people to add emojis easily
Without doing the _meow_ thing?

Do you mean an emoji picker or something?

No, I meant when you pick a emoji in your keyboard tab, it always doesn't show up and only if you do the _meow_ thing.

No support, there are some inappropriate emojis(ones used frequently in inappropriate contexts).
The ST can regulate emoji use better by having control over which ones are able to be posted in the first place.
If you want a certain emoji, you can always make a suggestion to add it.

As @-Valtren- said, there are some inappropriate emojis, so the Scratch Team could maybe add something similar to what we have on the forums (a list of emojis added into the website, most likely so people who aren't on mobile can access emojis and also so mobile users don't end up using an offensive one). A list of emojis to use would be much safer for the website than using emojis on a normal keyboard.

Not everyone knows about the emojis, and I think it should stay like that. Some people spam emojis, and that's not right.

Couldn't they just add the inappropriate ones to the filter (or not support those)?

And hope that adding a new emoji will somehow make it to the top of the Scratch Team's priority list.

✨ Maybe they could add support for emojis aside from practically useless ones and the sparkle emoji. ✨

on the point of using emojis to be mean, there are many ways to be mean that wont be spotted by the filter
for example:
yeah you could comment “” after someone's joke to be mean
but you could just as easily just say “not funny” or even just use the emoticon “|:”

I'm interested in the idea, but I don't really see the need to implement it in Scratch. ( ._. )
Why not try posting it as a Scratch “project”?
It is a very interesting idea.
