The pen extension always goes to the back layer. So there's no way to layer it unless you stamp everything else in the back.

You can't. Pen always goes directly onto the background. Though you can work around this be stamping all the sprites in the correct order to make the pen go to the front layer.

ok while it is true that you cant do pen in front of objects, it is possible to quickly stamp it and then have costume go behind the stamp

Ah, I was thinking about putting a standard sprite behind the pen layer, and not a stamped sprite >_<

Also you can use snipping tool to take screenshots, then copy the image and paste straight into forums.

What do you mean by message? Also, you cannot display pen over sprites. It simply cannot be done.

i was just proveing that it is possible to put sprites behind pen, ONLY if you make the sprite part of the layer for a fraction of a second
