Add a pfp filter

We need this because anyone, I mean, ANYONE can change their pfp to anything they want, and who knows, it could be inappropriate. This just happened on @griffpatch recently and I’m worried that kids will look at the pfp and learn the wrong thing, and I think the ST should add a filter for the pfps that we choose to make and put as are avatar (similar to a pfp).

I don’t think this might get sticked or anything that promotes this, but it’s worth a shot, even when we need it most.

How would a filter have the ability to see a pfp and tell if it's appropriate or not? I'm pretty sure this is why project image filters haven't been implemented.

It would detect the pfp by confirming that the pfp does not break any community guidelines (sorta like comments!) and if it does, it will be removed or reported automatically to the ST .

You make a great point there! The filter (if it has any function) would detect any rule breakers and check if the pfp is appropriate enough to change for the user’s account.

Hm, you're right, but I think that the ST already does that. Not sure, though.

How would a bot/filter be able to see the pfp and tell if it's allowed or not?

They only done it for comments, projects, studios I think, not pfps yet. It sounds like a great idea to prevent any inappropriate or rule breaking pfps on Scratch.

Well… since I know AIs can look at anything and inspect regular pfps and images, it can also have the ability to check the pfps if it’s programmed to do so.

no i don't think so they just manually remove it after a reprot

So, basically the suggestion is to add some sort of AI that can tell if a pfp is bad or not? With that being said, would there be a way to tell the ST if the bot has made a mistake? If a kind of filter is added, the mistakes are aimed to be as minimal as possible.

You can just report, or if such kind of AI filter is added, then it could report the icon automatically which would be pretty sweet!

If there's a way to tell the ST about mistakes, the bot is able to successfully detect inappropriate pfps, the mistakes are as minimal as humanly possible, and the ST has the resources to do so, then support as it may help!!

I’m glad that you are going to if that’s the case!

This might be a very successful topic!!

What I'm getting from this is that you want an AI to detect if images are inappropriate? You DO realise how faulty AI is, right? We, as humans aren't advanced enough to make an AI of that level and even if we were it would be REALLY expensive.

Oh ok. Then support but I think it need like Midjourney kind of filter in order to at least not fail the filter.
And I support so kids do not get exposed to NSFW stuff and anything bad.

I do think that the kind of AI needed would have to be a more high-quality one to prevent mistakes. If too many mistakes are made with the AI, then it wouldn't really do the job, making it harder to even find a pfp that the bot likes.
