I'm rather certain there isn't one of these, and that's a crime. So…
Welcome to the Yume Nikki topic!

Yume Nikki is a 2004 surreal exploration game made by the developer kikiyama in RPG Maker 2003! It was updated until 2007 (although most copyright tags list 2008), stopping at version 0.10a. Despite its humble beginnings and initially small following, it became one of the most well known and influential Indie Games of all time. Yume Nikki can claim to inspire such games as Doki Doki Literature Club, Omori, Faith, and even Undertale! The developer is suprisingly secretive and essentially a hermit, despite clearly knowing their influence over video games as a whole. Nobody really knows who kikiyama is, and yet they're one of the most revered indie game creators in recent history.

In the time from then to now, Yume Nikki has become a cult classic, with so much fanart and fan music that you'd be hard pressed to find a more devoted following. Not only that, but there are countless fangames that often are nearly as quality as the original game. It's incredible how devoted the fanbase of this game is, and I'm sure that there are some people here on scratch who are a part of that fanbase.
There are a few rules, of course…

There are a few rules, of course…
- Fanart is totally fine, but please make sure it doesn't break scratch terms, keep blood and suggestiveness to a minimum
- Please mark spoilers, I wouldn't want this game ruined for anybody
- Don't start flame wars please and thank you
- I would absolutely adore sharing theories, but please stay mature and don't share anything too innapropraite or graphic
- Other than that, have fun!

is yume 2kki a fangame?
also it's been a while since i said that, hasn't it. i've tried playing the game a bit, but i really don't get it >.> more than anything else, the lack of any direction or goal just makes it feel like i'm wasting my time, and the surreal dream-like scenery doesn't do it for me. does this have like, an ending?
