"Browse" or "Suggested/Recommended" projects to look at
projects you have viewed beforeI think it should be sorted by projects you loved before because sometimes you click on a project and don't like it. I don't think you would be happy to have tons of projects you don't like in this section. [offtopic]that is why I no longer use youtube[/offtopic]

The problem with recommendations and similar pages that are tailored to you is that they would only show the kind of things that you like. Say that I like games and check a lot of that type of project - now mostly games will show up, and you wouldn't get to experience or enjoy other projects, in this case things like art and animations. A counter-argument to this would be “it is only a section, users can still check other projects if they want”, but most people stick with things they like and don't want to explore new things, so they will only use the “recommended” tab

Bump, this is still a very good idea.
Honestly, I think this is a good idea, but it wouldn't be something that I would use all the time.
Unless there was a very good project by someone famous or something (or if it follows the Community Guidelines).

Bump
Considering this is a mostly kids site, this might cause some issues with COPPA, depending on how this is implemented.

Tags are broken, so it would be basically useless. Plus, often tags are just #games #stories #animations #art #all, I almost never see anyone use tags like #runner or #fruit etc.

It would be just like youtube, scratch will notice what kind of projects you really like. when you get on scratch there will be the home page. It will be the featerd projects at the top then there's the FOR YOU part when you scroll down.

I agree, this would give projects a chance instead of relying on the explore page and gives a second motive to like projects

Only touch part would be developing an algorithm
I could probably make something if any of you would like to see that

Support, because even if it would make Scratch more like social media, it would have the benefit of giving you fun projects to see. The algorithm should take into account:
Note how I didn't mention popularity. I think it's fair to give unpopular Scratchers more attention, at least here, because all other browsing features favour popularity. Also, projects don't need to follow each rule.
Users would also deserve a section in account settings where they can blacklist certain tags, users or languages from showing up in the list, as well as enable/disable NFE. The algorithm shouldn't take into account you just viewing a project, because you may not actually like it.
- projects with similar tags to ones the user has loved or favourited (favourites have more weight)
- projects by users you're following
- projects from your country
- projects in your language
- recent projects
- projects you have not seen

Semi-support. While this is an absolutely amazing feature on paper, in practice….
1) This is way out of budget for a non-profit. YouTube has something similar, but YT is a for-profit.
2) What happens if a inappropriate project appears there?
3) How far back does it go? For example, if I favourited a cringy project all the way back in 2020 (when my account was first made) would that still count?
