How does collaboration work?

Hi, I would like to do a collab with someone, but I do not understand how it works.

If i want to code with someone else, it means i need to share the project.
To communicate with the other person, we can use the comments.

Now comes the problem: that means anybody can see what we are doing.
Can someone help me? Thanks

Does it matter that other people can see what you're doing? I don't think that's a big problem. In fact, I think it's a good thing, because it means other people can give you feedback while you're working on the project.

I don't recommend this, as I explained in my post.

With all due respect, you haven't actually explained why it is a bad idea. You have only explained why doing a public collaboration is a good idea (and, you're right, that is a good idea).

The only way a secret account would work is if you and your friend made separate accounts and only shared the usernames with each other. As long as you're careful, no one will discover these accounts, and you can share the collaboration all you'd like, as they are unlikely to be found. Note that you cannot make an account that both of you share; for more information, see this announcement: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/183361/

(Unless you're sharing the computer anyway.)

Paddle2see in that post you linked wrote:

If you’re sharing a computer with someone, and especially if you’re using the computer together, it’s okay to use the same account if you’d like.

I don't think private collaboration is in any way a bad idea, and what Za-Chary suggested is a very good idea. Or, if you know the person in real life, you could send SB3 files to each other.

Now that i think about it, you are right. Thanks to all the other people too!

(This also works if you know them on other platforms, but unfortunately Scratch's rules don't allow linking to them.)
