I was only added to the list of Former Scratch Team Members on the Our Team page very recently — July 2022 — despite the fact that I left the Scratch Team by November 2021. The comments made by @Super_Scratch_Bros20 and myself had merit at the time since they were posted before July 2022.

I would like this. It's hard to tell sometimes, whether a user was on the Scratch Team or not.

Pretty sure both. but that does add something to my point.

Support–every time I see someone who says they were on the scratch team I get a little wary, because I usually trust the ones with asterisks, but I have no way to tell whether or not they're legitimate. It'd be really helpful to have another built-in way to identify them.

Ranks are generally used to differentiate access to features. Since former Scratch Team members have Scratcher status with regard to feature access - there is no need for another rank.
