Way to block ban evasion on scratch
The website https://iphub.info/ has a API to check if a user is using a VPN;
One could say some users use vpns for security; but that is a big fat lie among vpn companies; all you need is a website to be on HTTPS; therefore meaning your site is secure, just don't download suspicious stuff, click on random unsafe websites, etc. You can easily stay safe on the internet without a vpn.
I understand there are malicious sites that can grab ips and information. But those links will be blocked anyways on scratch.
If vpns and anonymous proxies are blacklisted; ban evasion will be cut down and give the ST easier work.

You could argue that innocent bans could happen, but they can just submit a contact us and get unblocked.Contact Us is a little inefficient at the moment,
(takes several weeks to reply from experience)
so that would probably be annoying for people who got banned for accidentally using a VPN
Other than that, I support this. There is basically no use for a VPN besides anonymity. IDK how Scratch would detect self-hosted stuff like torproxy, but a ban on popular VPNs is a start

Huh. You realize that people might use VPNs for other things and then then leave it on when they are done with their previous thing and get banned for no reason?

I know i use a VPN for non-malicious purposes. As does most VPN users.
So, rather than banning VPN’s, how about we not block it?

I'm pretty sure most VPN's have a whitelist feature where you can whitelist a specific website from going through the vpn.Huh. I'm supporting the idea at this stage.

I know i use a VPN for non-malicious purposes. As does most VPN users.But a VPN isn't cold medicine. It's one of those miracle oils that do nothing for you. All it does is change your ip to something else;

And I've found VPNs and proxies to be used more for malicious purposes than normal use

Fun fact: Grabbing someone's IP is as simply as luring them onto a website. The website can be completely legit and everything, and you can still grab people's IP. In fact, you can search “My IP adress” on google to find out what IP you have!Huh. Edit: On the otherhand, Roblox should be using this
Even more, the website seems to identify VPNs/Proxies via seeing if they are residential IPs, which means any public network would most likely also be blocked (no more McDonalds WIFI). I believe this could also mean that if you have a small proxy server thats not in a datacenter and stuff, it could bypass this thing.

Besides; which type of 12 year old scratcher is going to have a mini proxy server in their house so they can abuse it to spam innapropriate words on a children's programming platform; And if it was a adult doing it it would be really immature and stupid.

snip-Fun fact: some people dont want others knowing that IP that easily
That's crazy, it's not like this is irrelevant information.
snip-ok bad example but like
no more public internet still (idk if schools would be considered a “VPN” since idk they might have multiple servers)

And I believe it is indeed these immature and stupid adults who seem to be causing the most trouble…
(And yes, I personally know atleast 1 person child with a silly proxy set up just to play minecraft)

No. Adults are too mature to spam a children's programming site. I've only seen children ban evade and spamsnip-Fun fact: some people dont want others knowing that IP that easily

Sure you can link Scratcher-made websites, but there are very few of these sites which grab your IP and make it available to the public
