Boycott reCAPTCHA (17-23 April)
I'm boycotting all sites that use reCAPTCHA, including Scratch, from 17 to 23 April.
While on holiday, I tried to download a manual for the TV, which had broken. I could only find it on 1 site, which showed ‘Please upgrade to a supported browser to get a reCAPTCHA challenge’ as I was using my phone. If the site hadn't used reCAPTCHA, I could've downloaded the manual.
reCAPTCHA is more likely to consider you a bot if you use Linux or have no Google account, collects hardware info and browsing history and is unnecessary for most sites.
If enough people boycott reCAPTCHA for a week, some sites will remove it and Google will fix its issues.

I'm considering boycotting all sites that use reCAPTCHA, including Scratch, from 17 to 23 April.Sure I will. Although to be fair, most bot makers probably do use Linux and don't sign up with Google.

If there was a way to replace reCAPTCHA with hCaptcha automatically then I would do that.

I have no Google account when not on mobile and it works fine. Google has your data anyways from YouTube and things, unless you Don't use any Google service at all, in which case, sure. Just Upgrade your browser.

reCAPTCHA works fine when logged out of google accounts.
Google inherently has access to a lot of browsing history.
Good luck boycotting the site you’re on.
And how will many sites work against bots? Sure, cyber security is important, but who cares that you need to do a CAPTCHA when online? And why should sites be forced to bend to work for BlackBerryOS, a very outdated operating system?

Explain please? I don’t see how Linux and lack of google would cause reCAPTCHA to think I’m a bot. It works just fine for me.reCAPTCHA works fine for me on Linux with no google account, wdymIt works but is more likely to tell the site owner you're a bot.

Really, using phones and browsers this old is a hobbyist activity. People aren’t going to go out of their way so you can use a browser that barely even supports HTTPS

I don’t see how Linux and lack of google would cause reCAPTCHA to think I’m a bot.
Most bot makers probably do use Linux and don't sign up with Google.

Keyword there is probably, doesn’t give any factually solid evidence that Linux users are being “flagged”I don’t see how Linux and lack of google would cause reCAPTCHA to think I’m a bot. Most bot

how do you plan to boycott recaptcha lole
as far as i'm aware linux users don't get flagged more often - it takes your history on other recaptcha sites, user agent, mouse/kb movements etc into account mainly
