those are also my favorite. for the other ones I was trying a style but it didn't really work out.

..OH MY GOD I MISS HIM. I'm not exactly sure why, but I don't really like it better. It looks like a recolor to me, and the older one reminds me of some old profile pictures on websites.

The colors feel way too vibrant and bright from the original (like they were made from the ground up) and on top of that, of that some detailed effects from the original image are missing, so we won’t need a new icon anytime soon. The new icon also still feels like something out of Scratch 3.0 even though the cat is from a way older version of Scratch, so nobody really bothers to want to change it. There have been some other mock-ups, but you shouldn’t just expect the default profile picture to change every new version of the Scratch website, as there are many old accounts (still active or not) using the original profile picture to this day.
