It was likely a site to test the forums out, before they implemented 2.0’s fully.

I think it is just where the CSS, JavaScript, images and other stuff like that used by the forums was during Scratch 2.0's beta. Now it is at https://cdn.scratch.mit.edu/scratchr2/static/djangobb_forum/.

That’s just one of the forum emojis. It redirects to the homepage because it’s under beta.scratch.mit.edu

Yeah, it was the Scratch 2.0 beta (which replaced the alpha website at alpha.scratch.mit.edu) then when 3.0 was in beta, it became that. So all urls were redirected to the homepage after everything was complete.

yeah, old ones could get archived, and most of them leads to a 404, while some just leads to the front of the page, which is the home page,
