Northern and Southern Hemisphere

Scratch should add a variable block that detects if we're in the Northern Hemisphere or the Southern Hemisphere, so people can make games and add the seasons to match the hemisphere.

(Hemisphere)

when green flag clicked
forever
if <(Hemisphere) = [Northern]> then
if <(current [month]) = [1]> then
broadcast [snow
end
end
end

Would this detect based on your actual location, or the location that was set on your profile?
Also, there is a suggestion for current season, which can be used to detect the hemisphere:

IDK making the seasons more accurate like if you are living in Australia or somewhere, it doesn't really snow in the Winter.

Games like Animal Crossing or making games fancier or something. Like in Animal Crossing, there are stuff that happen each season.

You could just ask someone if they live in the Northern or Southern hemisphere in the project.

Semi-support, it could be used in games to make things be what it is where whoever’s using it said they are, which would be pretty cool, but you could also just do what @wer65hertg said, and make the project ask.

Hey young kids! a hemisphere is a half of the earth, usually as divided into northern and southern halves by the equator, or into western and eastern halves by an imaginary line passing through the poles. Now what is yours?

It’s probably more likely they don’t know which hemisphere they live in
They could just ask someone, or ask and play the game later
