False bans from mass reporting and how to fix it
Scratch, Instead of having bots banning projects from mass reports have a team of volunteers that are well trained, trusted, and educated adults or have very well known and trusted scratchers that are suffering from the affects of mass reporting; also us as a community can stand up to this and confront scratch about this and put up reasonable solutions since scratch is a nonprofit site and the moderation is run by bots, so we can make scratch a better place by fixing it with reason solutions.

Just so you know. Scratch is non profit + cannot afford a lot of people to moderate the site. If you are over 18 and looking for a job you can sign up to be an employee and be able to help with moderating. But for now they just have to use bots for their site. Maybe even donate to help them to get more moderators to scratch.
I understand mass reporting is an issue but for now it has to be led up by some of the ST workers or the bots.

7.4 Allow Scratchers to moderate the websitenow I understand the OP said “educated adults” but it's been proven time and time again that without private communication there is no way to fully verify the age of someone on scratch. Someone could easily lie.
A community moderator program used to exist where Scratchers could moderate the website, but it was removed due to some very inappropriate things showing up in the report queue, among other reasons. As a result, the Scratch Team has decided to only allow adults to moderate the website, including the forums.
If you are 18 or older, legally allowed to work in the United States, and are interested in moderating the website, check out the Jobs link to see if there are any openings for the “Community Moderator” position.

Please be aware that we don't have “moderation run by bots”. Projects that are reported excessively do get unshared for a period of time - and the author is blocked temporarily - but the projects are later reviewed by human moderators and restored if they are not inappropriate for Scratch. False reporting is an issue - but the system actually works quite well in many cases. However, the ones that get the publicity are the false report cases. We continue to explore better ways to tune the system.
Volunteer moderation by the community is something we have experimented with in the past (in the forums). I don't think we will be trying it again because of concerns about age verification, quality control, and legal liability. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
