Making a FNaF game, give me ideas for the ingame mechanics.

Started a game 2 years ago as I wanted to make a game that wasn't simple like a ball bouncing and it would be good to show my hard work to friends. So far I am stuck on ideas for in-game mechanics.

WANNA SUGGEST A NEW THEME?
The game is called Five Nights at Scratch. (original, I know) I chose this name at first since Scratch already has simple sprites I could use without needing to make new sprites. If you want you can suggest a new name but I will only change the theme of the game if the suggestion is really good (Suggestion example: “Instead of it being Five Nights at Scratch, why don't you make Five Nights at ROBLOX?” this suggestion

WANNA SUGGEST A GAME MECHANIC?
Just give me any ideas of what mechanic you want in the game! You will be credited on the Notes + Credit and I may make a special menu screen for credits where YOU will be featured on it!

THE STORY
In the story of the game in 200X, during the rise of arcades with animatronics, you got hired to keep an eye on animatronics that is most likely malfunctioning, as rumors are going around that they free roam at night and maybe a threat to the arcade. Current employees of the arcade have found out that the animatronics are looking for a specific person as they entered the arcade to get ready to open up they have seen the animatronics in multiple spots that they shouldn't be at. Obviously, all things aren't as they seem…You'll find out more in the following nights.

WHAT'S ALREADY IN THE GAME? and extra stuff
The office will look big as you will have 3 directions to look at. I am planning to have 1 vent on the left side of the office where enemies can come in, but it is giving you oxygen. I am not sure about this vent mechanic but you can suggest things to make it better. In the front of the office, there is a hallway where enemies can also appear. The right side of the office has nothing yet! I have started development in 2019 and only used Scratch while I was in school for some reason, so in 2020 there was no development progress. I am motivated to continue development on this game as of now. I hope you have great ideas!

Am good with game ideas but not good with code or art or sounds

Btw u should make it so theirs a Oxygen thing so when a enemies is in the vent it will lower your oxygen like if the thing is alive so it will give u a warning and u should give the Player a mask when he clicks it it will be like when u where a pumpkin in minecraft effect so it will be hard to see but will save your life.

Good idea, I might make it so enemies inside the vent will decrease your oxygen and you can seal the vent which won't let them inside but it will decrease your oxygen.
The mask has been planned as a defense mechanism.

Great suggestions!

I think an Interesting Mechanic would be a Rechargeable Power System. In a Specific Camera there will be a Button that, if you have your mouse hovering on it, Slowly Refills the Power Meter. If the power hits 0, then it disables all powered objects. (The Vent, the Cameras, the Oxygen.) And after a bit, the Animatronic closest to the Office will Jumpscare you and cause a game over.

I think that would add some SERIOUS tension to the game! (At least, in my opinion!)

Theme Idea: “The Nights at Tom Nook's” (AKA Five Nights at Animal Crossing.)
Maybe you can make the Office the Town Hall!

A rechargeable system would be nice, maybe there is a specific amount of power you can recharge to keep the game hard.
Great idea for an animal crossing FNaF game. However, there isn't a clear way to make a story off of that.

Great suggestions!

Another idea is that maybe will be an unavoidable animatronic that latches onto your face and blocks your vision for like 30 seconds, maybe to add strategy make it so it cant latch onto you when the Oxygen is below 50%.

Another idea is maybe a A/C System that can be set to heat or cool, but will always change depending on which is selected, maybe an animatronic appears when the room is too hot or cold, making it so you need to keep alternating between heat and cool.

Great idea! If the animatronic is unavoidable it should do it for 5 instead of 30 because that would be an instant game over.
A temperature system would be great, maybe I could add a balance where 2 specific animatronics appear respectively at their corresponding temperatures but setting hotter would make animatronics more aggressive, whereas colder would make them quieter and harder to detect.

a controlled shock that resets an animatronic but cost some power like I did in my game ( https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/732077164/)
add a fan that keeps your room at a curtain temperature but drains your power by a bit unless its off then the room gets hotter, but the power does not get drained and if it gets to hot then you would get jumpscared (also in my game)

speaking of A/C, you could add more temperatures stuff! if its too hot you could faint, if its too cold you uh basically hypothermia. (this is an idea that i had for the vent.) you can close the vent, but it will decrease the oxygen which could lead to fainting.

A tunnel, theres a hole in the room that is connected to the vents, the imposter can pop up from that tunnel and eliminate you with a gold scar (im just making random things lol)

ANIMATIONS!!!!

In typical FNaF games, the animatronics just SNAP places. There isn't any movement, it's just one moment, they're there, the next moment, they're here. While this might fit in shocking the player that the animatronic is way closer to them than they anticipated, in my opinion, it is really scary if you can see the animatronics get SLOWLY closer to your office. Maybe if they enter your office where you need to wear your mask (if that will be the function the player uses to survive, like in FNaF 2), you can add an animation where the animatronic throws a hand on the wall or doorframe and pulls itself in the office, gives a quick scan, and slips back into the darkness. Maybe the jumpscare could be the animatronic storming into your office, grabbing your shoulders, and giving a quick, old-fashioned Bite of 87'.

Isn't luring an enemy from room to room just willy from Oblitus Casa (the sequel to Five Nights at Treasure Island)?
