Is the use of TurboWarp allowed?
Hi!
So, I have a pretty big project with a ton of code concentrated into a single sprite. Even on my very expensive computer, the editor slows to a halt when the sprite is open. It takes a full 15 seconds just to add in a new block! It's becoming impossible to add or change code in the sprite.
I've heard about TurboWarp, which is supposed to be much more lightweight than Scratch, while also having better performance. I tried the project with TurboWarp, and the editor performance was much better. However, in the ToS, the Scratch Team states that a project built with a modified version of the Scratch editor is not allowed to be uploaded.
Tl;DR: Is using TurboWarp to work on my project allowed if I only use features that exist in the vanilla Scratch editor? Thanks!

Is the use of TurboWarp allowed?
Yes because it's very hard to tell the difference the way you are doing it AND I think the ToU is saying that just to prevent broken projects.

That particular entry in the ToU is kind of outdated last I checked, and bans the use of scratch 3.0.
I wouldn't pay much attention to it.
Turbowarp is allowed by the scratch team, since they don't have any problems featuring projects linking to it.

Is the use of TurboWarp allowed?
It is allowed. The only clause in the ToU that prohibits using it is to upload Scratch projects using its editor, which is prohibited by this clause:
but no one cares about it anyways. You may only submit user-generated projects that were created with (1) the Scratch website editor or (2) an unmodified copy of the Scratch editor compiled from the source code described in Section 5.3. You may not upload any projects that were created, by you or by anyone else, with a modified version of the Scratch editor.

it's fine. the tos rule about the scratch editor and all that are usually used against projects with hacked blocks in them, not ones made in turbowarp

This is true. Furthermore, even if people did care about it, it would be literally impossible to tell whether a project was made using Turbowarp, because the file formats are exactly the same. but no one cares about it anyways.
So yes, you are allowed to make a project with Turbowarp and upload it to Scratch.

Though, ignore this part because you’re not going to be hunted down for making projects in byob/sharp/turbowarp/2.0 That particular entry in the ToU is kind of outdated last I checked, and bans the use of scratch 3.0.
I wouldn't pay much attention to it..
