Running Scratch and things in odd programs
Bad gateway 504They perfected codypony with the sprite{index} and the costume{index}. How did they not think of this in Scratch 2.0 or 3.0?now we need to run codyponyHuh?
(Yes that was an issue with this site LOL because the default project had costume{index} or backdrop{index})
And nice to know about 1.x lol

Ach, I thought this is “running Scratch in odd programs”, not "opening the Scratch website in odd programs"

I recently got an eMac. -snip-As promised.
This one seems to be from 2004 and it's too new to boot Mac OS 9. But it has OS 9 installed for the sake of the Classic environment, so eventually I was able to boot it in Qemu on another computer.
I'm pretty certain no version of Scratch ever officially supported Mac OS 9, but all you have to do is run the Squeak image with an appropriate Squeak VM.I was meaning to post a screenshot for a few weeks, but the laptop it's on is out of action for now, so in the meantime -snip-

Nice! I have the first eMac (700Mhz is it?) And I couldn't get OS 9 to work at all. I might try my iMac G3 sometime.I recently got an eMac. -snip-As promised.

I was looking through winetricks (on Linux) and noticed it had a URL where you can still download Safari for Windows (a dinosaur from Land Before Chrime Chrome…I'm keeping that phrase.) directly from Apple's servers. Apple Software Update obligingly updated it to 5.1.7 (the last version, from 2012). One interesting feature of this browser is the Bonjour (mDNS-SD) discovery menu.
Anyway, here's the Squeak NPAPI plugin again (why not?). This time I couldn't get it to work (on any browser) without installing Etoys for some reason and then replacing the image. (It doesn't have the flickering when you adjust/move the window that Netscape Navigator had IIRC)

File stuff doesn't work. Uploading does work however, so a dedicated person could easily mod it to fetch 1.4 projects from the Scratch website.
And here's _nix's s2online (OK, this isn't all that novel, or at least it probably wasn't novel when Scratch 2 came out. I might've used it this way before. Weird thinking I've tried both Internet Explorer for Macintosh and Safari for Windows…)
