A better option rather than a useless button that does nothing rather than sending a message to the creator, is discussing why the project is good and expressing your opinions about the project in the comments. To be honest, this just encourages people to not use their keyboards.

(I know, I know, they add a bit of fame, but adding a way of saying “good” with a little less server space could be very helpful to the site overall.)
v A lot of compliments on projects are literally just this anyway. v
goodAnd comments probably take up more server space than buttons, meaning that this would help with Scratch's eternal issue of paying for storage a bit.

Based off the fact that you didn't quote the parenthesis, you appear to now be agreeing with my joke statement. and this accomplishes exactly as much as this comment. An extremely large majority of comments, especially on popular projects, are just “good” or a variation of it.good

Also, still, the useless button is still less storage on the servers than“good” Isn't the only thing being posted in the comment section, therefore, the Scratch Team could just spent time and effort on a useless button with literally no benefits.

Someone can make a project that's something like “ Good if u hate me” or “ Good this project if you hate @A_Scratcher” and people would “good” those types of projects to show that they hate the user who made those projects/the subject of the project

“good” Isn't the only thing being posted in the comment section, therefore, the Scratch Team could just spent time and effort on a useless button with literally no benefits.Benefits: Some smaller Scratchers may not want fame (even if these people are rare, they still exist and I'm one of them) and only want their small group of friends to see their projects. Not everyone will have a comment. Also, just because “good” isn't the only comment in the comment section doesn't at all mean that adding a feature that reduces it is entirely useless. This suggestion is also not meant to completely stop commenting, so don't assume that unless the original poster says so.
Not really. In my entire time using Scratch (even before I had an account), I've never seen a variation of the “good” comment with even a single reply.and this accomplishes exactly as much as this comment. An extremely large majority of comments, especially on popular projects, are just “good” or a variation of it.Therefore, a whole new discussion starts by this comment, they are at least using their keyboards and attracting with the community.

Support. It's like the YouTube Dislike button but it's positive.

I would good this suggestion but only if the Scratch Team adds a “What the Community is Gooding” row on the front page.

Alright, a more serious answer… I think the existing love button is sufficient enough. The only downside you give is that it might cause a project to be front-paged. But this is remedied by simply unsharing the project, closing comments, or leaving/ignoring the project while it's front-paged.

But this is remedied by simply unsharing the project, closing comments, or leaving/ignoring the project while it's front-paged.I feel like all three remedies would do more harm than good for me.
- Unsharing the project would definitely irritate people, and I don't want to close off something for the specific reason of people loving it- it feels petty and rude.
- I don't like closing comments- I enjoy the predictable chaos that is my friend's extremely random comments. The only exception is when comments may contain spoilers, in which case I direct them to my profile to comment for the project.
- Leaving/ignoring… know what, I do this to every project I've ever made but uh-

Unsharing the project would definitely irritate people,Why? If someone asks, just tell them that you would prefer not to have your project on the front page.
and I don't want to close off something for the specific reason of people loving it- it feels petty and rude. You're not closing it for the specific reason of people loving it — I was under the impression that you'd be closing it for the specific reason that it is on the front page. And I assume you would do this if it was on the front page for any reason — for instance, if many users remixed it or the project was featured. Note that a “good” button does not work around remixes or featuring, and would likely not prevent these things from happening (and I argue it's easier to get Top Remixed than it is to get Top Loved).
I don't like closing comments- I enjoy the predictable chaos that is my friend's extremely random comments.I mean, I guess, but at the same time I could just say “I don't like this ‘good’ button because I enjoy the chaos of being on Top Loved.” It's also somewhat like saying “I don't want people to steal things from my house, but at the same time, I don't like closing or locking my doors.” Closing comments is an easy solution to prevent many of the messages you'd get. If you don't want to use this solution, I guess that's okay, but you'd need to understand the risks of this.

To be honest, this just encourages people to not use their keyboards.Might cause drama if they say a comment that says good and the haters are “NO BAD!111!11!!!!”
