Yeah. And Ubuntu is more bloated than Windows nowadays - I remember back in 2007 thinking Ubuntu was so light..
I mean I've had 16 laptops, and 6 of them were Linux. 5 of those 6 broke down. The other 10 were Windows. Not one broke down.

Ubuntu is pretty bad now, but windows is still way worse.

Idk about the boot loop. Did you ever get it to boot?
And the crashing, that could be bad hardware, or maybe you didn't install graphics drivers. What gpu did you have.

I can't remember the GPU. Ah, here it is, yeah I got it to boot though it's not that powerful. It's running 8.1, here's a screenshot of it running Scratch on my old account:

inspect element?

I thought you were saying a ubuntu version.

So you never got it to boot successfully on linux?

Maybe the problem was you had nvidia gpu, in which case you could try the pop os nvidia version: https://pop.system76.com/

so why do 40% of developers use linux while only >5% of people generally use linux?

On the stack overflow survey, if you include wsl as linux, on average, with combined professional and personal more/the same amount of devs use linux as windows.

Why would you count WSL as Linux? It's virtual and, most devs who use it mainly use Windows tools.

It still resembles Linux, as a terminal, which is the base of Linux. Why would they use Windows tools, and if they did why would they say they primarily used wsl?

wsl is listed separately because it isn”t really just windows or linux. I think that makes sense.

it doesn’t matter, anyway. my point was that a vastly disproportionate number of developers use linux. and we’re not including people who want to be.
