Making Holes in Costumes
So the other day I accidentally put several great ideas and suggestions in one post, so know I'm dividing the ideas into several different post. One of my ideas/suggestions was:
MAKING HOLES:
How this would work is that you would make a shape of any kind (in this example I say square)
You take a square and put it on top of an image, then you push a button and the square is gone and there is a square-shaped hole chopped through the middle of the image.
There, that's it, no 7 hours of trying to put a perfect square shaped hole in your costume with the eraser tool. Just push a button and your done.
It would work with any shape too, you can make holes in costumes with any shape you can make with the costume editor.
Wouldn't this make things easier?

I do think this would make things easier lol. Sometimes scratchers have better ideas than the scratch team!

I like that suggestion a lot! I can't believe I didn't think of making it myself! Yes, it is very hard and painstaking to make a shape have a hole in it using the system we have now. This feature would save a lot of time.
Although, now that I think about it, you could do a shape with a transparent center and a really thick outline.

Support! Note that this operation is called “subtract” in more advanced vector editors.

Did you even read the post One word:
Eraser
yes but also you can use the shape tool to shape the hole to a square

This would be great! It is incredibly annoying to have to use a mixture of the eraser tool and the morphing tool just to make a single hole in a sprite! This would be really useful!

It is tedious to do so and this would be way more convenient especially if you wanna make multiple holes or want a hole to be the shape of another costume.Did you even read the post One word:
Eraser
yes but also you can use the shape tool to shape the hole to a square

Your idea is interesting. It seems that what you want to create is a tool that allows any custom shape (triangle, circle, square, etc). I agree that it could be useful if it is added to the editor. I cannot imagine what kind of costumes we will see if such a tool is available. I cannot find anything wrong with this feature. The only potential problem is how people could misuse this feature. Imagine kids start drawing inappropriate stuff with this feature, how would Scratch handle that? This tool is a double-edged sword, it can make a lot of things easier, but it needs to be implemented

People can also misuse the shape tool, pen tool, square tool, line tool, eraser tool, bitmap, circle tool and pen. Everything that can be used to draw can be misused.Your idea is interesting. Well, you have a point. But it really depends on how much potential this feature has to cause harm. Some tools would take a lot more effort to create inappropriate contents. If someone really wants to create inappropriate contents, they will surely find a way to do so.
