scratches blue screen of death
My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.11.6, Safari 11.1.2, No Flash version detected
i can't play any games on scratch because it just shows a blue screen, i might have an old computer that won't run the newer updates

The latest version of Safari should be 16.2, otherwise try using a different browser (Safari sucks lol).

The best option is to just factory reset it

No. Just restart. I do that to my computer. The best option is to just factory reset it
Edit: Just use a different device. I used to use it on a Chromebook but it stopped working so I switched to windows. (W bing)

Your computer is probably too old and not powerful enough, so it can't load Scratch because it's too resource-intensive. Try using a different device with more power.
This is not a glitch or bug with Scratch, reporting to be moved to Questions about Scratch.

Might be a little premature to come to that conclusion? Your computer is probably too old and not powerful enough, so it can't load Scratch because it's too resource-intensive. Try using a different device with more power.

I'd like to hear more about the device that they are trying to run Scratch on. Processor, RAM - that kind of thing.
Does it happen on every project they try and run - even very simple ones with very few resource requirements?

Either upgrade the RAM or processor, or your computer all together.

I've used up about half (not sure?) of my computers data
on my old account @SuperBlueLuigi i had this problem on this computer, and before the problem i could run projects fine… probably because of a new update, but i would like to use this computer instead of the family one.

I agree, it was a bit too early for that conclusion, but I see now that the user's computer really isn't powerful enough for Scratch, they have said they have an old computer and that even simple projects can't run. Might be a little premature to come to that conclusion?

OP, what model and brand is your device?

Maybe they are using a non-branded (e.g, custom-built) device?I agree, it was a bit too early for that conclusion, but I see now that the user's computer really isn't powerful enough for Scratch, they have said they have an old computer and that even simple projects can't run.
