Agere/Petre and Bans: What's your reasoning, Scratch Team?
Definitions so I don't get a ton of people asking what agere/petre is
Agere(/age regression) : Regressing back to a younger mindset. Can be voluntary or involuntary. Often used to cope with things but can also be just for fun. Completely SFW.
Petre(/pet regression) : Same as agere except instead of regressing to a younger mindset you do so to a more instinctual/animal-like mindset.
I heavily suggest doing some research on this too because there's only so much I can explain. Also completely SFW.
•• And now, for the actual issue ••
Dear Scratch Team, why on earth do I keep seeing people getting banned for age/pet regression???
Agere/petre by itself is completely SFW. Are you confusing it with,, let's just say,, another thing? Or are you worried kids are going to look up agere/petre and see results for the other thing. If that last one is the case, it's really ridiculous. There's an NSFW side of the furry fandom, fairly easy to find just by doing a quick google search for “furry”, and furries don't get banned just for being furries.
Are you worried about someone harming the age/pet regressors? This also makes absolutely no sense, as, well, there's already 5 year olds on your website.
Do you think it's inappropriate RP? It's not. It's a very real thing.
If not, what the heck do you think it is??
••
I just wanna know your reasoning. As an age/pet regressor myself (I don't really do it publicly but still) I'm weirded out and honestly slightly offended because none of this makes any sense.

Often used to cope with things
I believe thats the problem: Scratch does not allow the sharing of stuff such as depression, as they “worried about someone harming the age/pet regressors” (and anyone else).
thats the only reason I can think of unless there is anything against CG that is mentioned during the regression

Nobody ever really talks about that during the regression though, all an outside observer would really see would be someone acting younger and also it's a positive thing for a lot of people and they're not going to want to bring that down by talking about something negative Scratch does not allow the sharing of stuff such as depression
The closest thing I can think of is having a caregiver may come across too much like dating in some people's eyes??? It's really not related though. And quite a few age/pet regressors don't even have those unless there is anything against CG that is mentioned during regression

You quoted my quote wrong lol
anyways, I cannot exactly think of a reason without seeing the whole regression thing (since currently I still dont even know how it functions exactly).
If you could, please give an example so I could think of something that might be causing the problems (also, by bans, do you mean actual bans, or mutes? and if actual bans, what were the reasons given?)

Yeah, I'm on mobile and not really an expert forumer. I did fix it though You quoted my quote wrong lol
I do mean actual bans. I've seen people get banned for mainly “inappropriate RP” which is the main reason I think ST is getting agere/petre (which is safe for all ages) mixed up with a certain other thing I probably shouldn't name that definitely isn't for kids If you could, please give an example so I could think of something that might be causing the problems (also, by bans, do you mean actual bans, or mutes? and if actual bans, what were the reasons given?)

The reasoning is similar in fashion to how sometimes studios claiming to address certain heavy subjects, such as depression, get shut down. You need to keep in mind that a good majority of the users on the website are underage. Agere/petre are often considered to be coping mechanisms - much like how it is irresponsible to be using underage people as therapists, it is irresponsible to be using underage users as “caregiver” (let alone treat the entire thing as a roleplay).
