already didAight, it's already edited. But, to be honest “support” doesn't add nothing to the discussion, at least provide the reasons that makes you support (Saying as per this/^/reasons above is just a unnecessary spam), and please remember that that's not a ballot box.

Sorry, I meant to say notifications. I'll change that in my original post. Why do we need a new way to turn off comments? This could stop all notifications, not just messages, which means that turning comments wouldn't fix the problem.
And there's no need to stop getting messages, it's not like you get a notification on your computer when you get a message.

Just turn off comments and if you are done turn it back onbut what if you keep getting other notifications like studios or people loving your project or that one forum topic you followed one year ago that just got active all of a sudden? You can't hide your message count without browser extensions. Just because of a workaround doesn't mean you don't gotta support it.
no support
Support for the above reason. You guys don’t realize that.
You also can’t be expected to disable comments on everything for no notifications.

I fail to see how getting messages is an issue in the first place. You can't view your messages while working on a project.

I fail to see how getting messages is an issue in the first place. You can't view your messages while working on a project.I think that's the problem they're trying to solve with this feature. If you see a notification, it's instinct to click on it, and then at that point you're already distracted and it's possible you may forget what you were doing beforehand. Has happened to me many times.
As for the suggestion itself, I feel as if the way OP suggested fixing the issue was a bit convoluted, however I do support to the general idea behind it.

Yes.gogurdian doesn’t let you use the offline editor so what you said doesn’t help themdoes it have to do anything with this post?goguardian is a software companyoffline editor existsGoGuardian exists aswell
the offline editor is scratch without the community part.
GoGuardian can see what you download and since i'd technically no longer be on the scratch website it would also scan it every once in a while causing it to lag

Isn't this feature supposed to hide the message counter and not disable comments?

Isn't this feature supposed to hide the message counter and not disable comments? This feature would disable all comments at once. So, say you have over 200 projects. It would be a pain to go and turn each one off and on again while ur incognito

say you have over 200 projectsIf you have 200+ projects then I think there's a much bigger issue needing to be addressed here

this is completely pointless, you can just close comments and not click on your messages

I'm still not understanding how this is a problem in the first place… If you are in the project editor, there's literally no message button. I don't see a way to get distracted by something that isn't even visible unless you are constantly clicking out to check if you have a message, which I don't know why you would do that if you are avoiding your messages.
