Im guessing that eventually this will happen. There are ~2,085,136 combinations of the alphabet, numbers, and underscore/dash. How many of these are taken yet though i dont know.

It is entirely possible that somebody will create a bot that can skim through every 4 letter username. When this will happen, we are not sure. It could happen any moment. But to answer your question, yes, it is possible.

Well the allowed characters are A-Z, 0-9, _, and -. That's 38 characters. That means there are 38^4 possible four-chraracter usernames, which is about two million (for context there are about 102 million users on the site currently). I am proud to own two of those four letter usernames. It is certainly possible that they will all eventually be taken, but since there's not a singular publicly available list of all users out there, it's going to be difficult to figure out which ones are still available, and of course some are disallowed due to being inappropriate so those will never be taken.

That is true, I can confirm. I have thousands of unshared projects, and around 50 of them are dedicated to finding out every possible username on Scratch.

Since there would be bad words created with 4-letter usernames, that would be 2,085,136 possible names minus 7 that I can think of off the top of my head (I'm sure there's more).

I think there would be about 2,085,000 possible 4-character usernames.

Well if we're only asking about the letters, that's only 26^4 = 456976 letters. I can believe all of those being taken. I think people would be more interested in 4-character names than 5-letter names though, so I don't think all 5-letter names will be taken.
