You have very understanding and nice parents and teachers (“admins”)That's the only time these would be useful.I'm sure your teachers or parents would understand wanting you to look up tutorials to make Scratch games. No
Not everyone’s
that probably happens a lot and would be really useful

Having tutorials like this would be useful for people who want to learn something advanced but don’t have access to YouTube… but a lot of tutorials are here on Scratch in form of projects, and I believe that even if you have YouTube blocked on a school computer for example, the YouTube links on forums will convert into another Scratch page made for displaying videos without comments and stuff that will work. So no support.

I have looked, but I couldn't find it. I am 100% sure that someone said it (I think it was Paddle2See), but I'll look again. You conveniently forget to link proof. You conveniently forget the last section of that post, where I said that having such advanced topics might alienate the target audience for Scratch. Also, Scratch is about learning to code.Aren’t, now hear me out, tutorials are meant to- woah, teach you about the topic:0

Ok, I have looked… and couldn't find anything about a Scratch Team member saying it would alienate new users. I'll admit defeat here. I'm sure it exists somewhere, but I can't find it.I have looked, but I couldn't find it. However, I still believe the statement to be true. Having such complex tutorials when a newbie just wants to find out how to use variables could alienate them, making them think that having these complex tutorials means that Scratch is for more advanced programmers.

Furthermore, how would these tutorials even come to be? Would a Scratch Team member create them? Would they be user-generated? Please elaborate.

Hello! So I just found this forum and was so happy to have found this, because I whole- heartedly agree! I would like to give a quick explanation to some questions that some seem to have as well as a couple of tutorial suggestions. Just be warned, this is a long post.
*Ahem
So, first of all, let's just talk about how the tutorials would work. Since they are more complex tutorials, they would be sorted into a “ Advanced” category of tutorials. And yes, the scratch team does make these tutorials, seeing as they have a studio that is shown in the introduction video with sign language. And, if it still doesn't make sense to those on why the scratch team hasn't released more, it's most likely because….
1- they have to figure out what kind of tutorials to do, and the coding for it , while still making it easy to follow.
2- Translating to sign language.
3- they may need to find different people, because of unpredicted events.
I hope this explained for those that were confused.
Now my suggestions for some advanced tutorials.
ADVANCED ADVANCED
- A item list / inventory tutorial
- A IOS tutorial based thing( such as login feature)
- Scrolling text tutorial( also known as delayed text)
ADVANCED
- Character creator tutorial
- Counter tutorial
- Not exactly sure what to call this but when you add to things and it makes one set component( like in zelda when you cook)
-Personality quiz tutorial
and that's all the tutorial suggestions I have for now, but I would just like to the creator of this forum to know that you have my ~support~

I'll change my stance on this.
Semi-support, this can definitely help people that wanna code more advanced stuff, but I've got three things against this:
back in second grade literally everyone had 15 social medias but now kids can't even look up a scratch tutorial on youtube
Semi-support, this can definitely help people that wanna code more advanced stuff, but I've got three things against this:
1. Just study the code of advanced projects.jesus christ since when did parents get so strict
2. How would these tutorials be made? It's never specified in the OP. Will the community make them? If so, how will they be moderated? And anyways, the moderation team is too small to moderate every tutorial coming in.
3. This can 100% alienate new users. Imagine a new user is going to the tutorials to try and use a variable, but instead, they find tutorials on how to create advanced platformers.

What if they were put near the bottom so it’s less confusing?
And wouldn’t they make them the same way they made the other ones?
And it’s hard to look at and understand advanced code sometimes, and it isn’t)t the same as something that shows you what to do

3. This can 100% alienate new users. Imagine a new user is going to the tutorials to try and use a variable, but instead, they find tutorials on how to create advanced platformers. This doesn't remove the other tutorials. There'd probably be a separate section for them (I'll make a mockup later if you don't understand), so I don't see how that situation could happen.

Ok, thank you for clarifying.3. This can 100% alienate new users.
