“This Account Has Been Deleted”

sorry. No support. If there was a very inappropriate username, It's better if it seemed like it never existed rather than deleted..

…The account was deleted. It now shows a 404 page instead of their profile…If you went to the sign-up page and entered that username or added a “/followers” at the end of the URL, you would know that the account got deleted.
People would know anyways, you can't pretend it never existed if it did. Besides, if it was a very inappropriate username that got deleted, you'd have to look it up first. I don't know, it just seems that the person looking it up wouldn't be bothered by it if they looked it up so it doesn't really need to seem like it never existed. Plus, it seems better to me that if it did exist and then got deleted, it's clear that's what happened. That way it gives the message that those kinds of usernames aren't allowed and will get deleted better than it would if people just figured no one made accounts with inappropriate usernames.
Also, please don't quote the entire OP when responding to a suggestion. It's usually pretty clear that's who you're responding to.

Very few people know how to use that.

Including me, what API?

Also, the existence of a workaround, let alone an external workaround, is not enough to no-support it.

A support/no support is a matter of personal opinion.

If they didn't want it to be used they probably would not display the “this username is taken” message.
They used to exist:

It's because the account was deleted, not because they didn't want you to have certain usernames.
Also, this user did exist, as you can tell by the followers page, and the user's API

Let me rephrase that:

BearSlothCoding wrote:

Also, the existence of a workaround, let alone an external workaround, should not be your reason to no-support a suggestion as many people could not know about that workaround.

I don't see an issue with this. After all, I tried signing into an account I deleted, and Scratch said in an orange box, “This account is deleted!” It doesn't appear that the Scratch Team has a problem telling a user that an account was deleted – so there's no reason not to add this.

(At first I thought this was a no support message, whoops)
Yes, exactly! I don’t understand why so many people are so adamantly (I thunk that’s the word?) against this.

Bump
Also, apparently doing (username)/projects doesn’t work anymore, at first I thought it was because said user deleted all their projects but no, I did it for a user who I know has projects still up (which I know because I found out they were deleted via a shared project). Kinda strange. But (username)/followers still works.

Possibly because saying the account was “disabled by the ST” SPECIFICALLY, it seemed like “naming and shaming” a person for being banned, unless that appeared on any deleted account and not just deleted-banned ones. In which case the account wasn’t really disabled by the ST, it was disabled by the owner.
That old Scratch 1 graphic design looks really cool, I kind of miss some of the early aspects of Scratch.

I do think it should be brought back, saying an account has been deleted for reasons stated above, just with different wording then the Scratch 1 design.

This would be a nice convenience for finding namesnipes and funny usernames since people wouldn't have to muddle with the API.

Support. It can stop confusion whether the account is deleted or not taken.
