Hello, Scratchers! I am starting a virtual micronation called the Democratic-Dictatorship of Surgia (a bit of an oxymoron, no?). This will be a country that will a) take place on Scratch, b) hopefully on it's own website sometime soon, and c) hopefully on Minecraft (so citizens can have houses and things like that). Interested? No? Read on anyway!

How Does a ‘Democratic-Dictatorship’ Work?
Basically, the power is divided. Part of it goes to the people to decide, and part goes to the leader (which, in this case, is me). Set by a constitution that we create together to give the people rights that I cannot infringe with, but also gives me enough power to make changes to Surgia (Surge-ee-ah) when I deem necessary. We also collaborate on a basic set of laws that myself and my second in command (who generally has the same power as me, but I have final say) can build upon, but laws set up with the help of the people cannot be changed without their consent.

Second in Command?
Citizens of Surgia have the power to nominate and vote for the second in command, who may remain in office for up to a year (and may opt out at any time). The second in command may run for re-election as many times as he or she likes.

Currency
The currency is called Badias (symbol is π). Badias can buy you land in the Minecraft world and other things that may come up. 20π if you can figure out the reference.

National Symbol
The National Symbol will be a slice of pie with a bite out of it (with the pi symbol behind it).

National Anthom
This will come later.

Jobs?
There will be many jobs available once the Minecraft world is set up, but in the meantime, we have several jobs right here where we are now.
- Banker: I need somebody to setup a cloud system for the Badias. Each citizen needs to be registered starting with 100π and set to an interest of 7% compounded annually. The banker will earn 500π initially and 80π a week.
- Website Developer/Administrator: I will need somebody to develop a website for Surgia. If someone can do this efficiently and moderate well, they will earn 1000π for the website and 100π a week (it's a lot because it's a pretty big job, especially if we get a lot of citizens).
- Website Moderators: When the site is up, I will need them to help keep it safe. They will earn 100π a week.
- Police officers: They will patrol the Minecraft world and make sure that citizens are following the law. They earn 50π a week.

Temporary Jobs
I will need people to come up with a National Symbol (described above) and a National Anthom. The citizens will vote on the ones they like best and the winners will be awarded with 100π each.


Current Second in Command Candidates
You may nominate one of our citizens to run for Second in Command. You may not nominate yourself, and you are not forced to run if you are nominated.

Make this on minecraft! Make sure there is no banning though. You can't actually ban a person in the real world… And I'll become a citizen!

And make sure that you don't just teleport people to jail. You should have to hit them first, and then tp them to jail.

I will join as website admin and dev, but I don't have minecraft… Is that okay? I only have it for xbox.

Is the money reference with pi the number?
Talking of money, can I be banker? I won't be able to start on a cloud data system for a couple of days, but after that, definitely!

I could help work on a bank system also.

Gonna create my own micronation! It'll let us have multi-micronation interactions!

Farmer
The farmer is going to be very popular for buying to people who don't want to make a farm.
Probably decide payment for farming
Blacksmith
Popular to hunters who want to get lots of armour and swords fixed.Also miners can send there ores to here so they can be smelted.Also blacksmiths are the ONLY ones allowed to handle lava.
Miners
Mine stuff for the town all iron(after being smelted),gold/butter,diamonds and emeralds should be handed in to the bank and the miners will get a 50% share of there finds.
Hunter
Hunt animals from the wild after the farm is set up.
Guard
Guard the town from baddies.
Builders
Fill in creeper holes and be hired to build houses.
Redstoner
Do redstone work
Automatic farms,elevators cashiers etc

Can I build the spawn town for surgia in creative mode?
Can we all do that
