Ban the word "baka"
funi snip-Turning into an out of topic argument and translations of the ones not in Japanese
I wrote “supposed”, this is not supposed to be an arguemnt (it kinda IS an arguemnt tho thats tru)
I do agree that people should keep the word due to it being used in other languages, but certain versions of the word such as “sussy baka” should be censored

among us is the reason sussy baka exists. among us is kid-friendly (E10+, but equal to TV-Y7)
sussy means suspicious. by this logic, we should ban the word “suspicious idiot”
also this is literally slang.

All i censored was because, chair, and cowthats such an intelligent argumentthe fact that Herios think they are right is just sad.baka means (bad word) in filipinoyou are aware that any comment on scratch is public to the entire internet and people who speak languages other than english can view your posts?the comment is meant to be harmless, but isn't, so it still should be reported as it is very offensive (since otherwise the comment stays there). HOWEVER, you should most likely tell them what is wrong with the comment, as otherwise they would make the same mistake againthis is totally a dupe, github is banned on my school laptop though, so I cant use ocular :(If you are seeing the word in a comment you should let them know before you go around reporting people for it. The meme is still commonly used and the comment might have been harmless.
The title, baka means very offensive things in japanese, It a swear word there. And even if children don't get it and they think sussy baka is a small joke, it should still be banned for meaning offensive things.
edit: just (bad word) someone in english doesn't know its a swear, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be banned. ITS STILL A SWEAR AT THE END OF THE DAY
edit 2: I understand that it has a lot of translations in other languages. but japanese is not only the 2nd largest language in scratch (at least last time I checked), but is also where the word is from.
-Happy Scratching!
If it is intended to be harmless, it should be treated as such. Just (bad word) “(bad word)” could be inappropriate in another language doesn't mean we can't use it. It's an entirely different thing in English.
also your intent shouldnt mean anything, it matters more how it effects ppl
(also the word “baka” when used in english isnt “an entirely different thing” its the exact same word as in japanese. dont spread false info.)
If someone was on scratch who spoke a different language was trying to talk about a cow or a chair, or have a simple sentence that made sense, they couldn’t. Go a month without ever using the word because, and if you do you can’t go on scratch until years later.

also, due to baka also being a swear word, atleast some parts of it SHOULD indeed be censored, since it is still commonly used in a bad way. However, as it is still a fine word in other languages, only certain versions of it such as “sussy baka” should be censored
btw scratch only mute and temp ban you, the filter can atmost ban you for like (idk) 7 (?) days

baka used in japanese is (atleast from what japanese scratchers and scratchers who speak japanese said previously), most likely a swear
the baka in sussy baka is indeed supposed to be the baka from japanese, making it a swear
among us (the game) ITSELF is indeed kid friendly, but many things that came from it isn't (pretty much anything can be innapropriate if u use it in a really bad way, like the B word just means a female dog techinically, but are dogs innapropriate? no, however, the b word is)

(#208)going against. the slang meaning is SUPER LIGHTHEARTED and COMPLETELY a joke. If it was in Japanese, it would be in Japanese lettering, not these letters.

1. Personally I would not trust the urban dictionary
2.
I speak some Japanese and I’m surprised this isn’t already blocked…
also WWII stuff that i forgot proves that this probably isn't as nice as it seems like

In some places, the F word could be taken that way. Does that mean we should allow it, no?(#208)going against. the slang meaning is SUPER LIGHTHEARTED and COMPLETELY a joke.

Either way, this would raise some conflict with other languages. I would suggest banning it in Japanese symbols, but not much more. There isn't much of an argument to remove it in English, because a lot of other languages use it frequently. All languages shouldn't be weighed equally, but if multiple languages basically need it, than its needed.

Forgot too say of it’s a common and ok word (cow, because)that depends, if it is mostly used in an offensive way, it should still be banned (mostly as in like 90%, not like 60%)people this is NOT supposed to be an arguement, stop quoting each other in an attempt to prove they did something stupid or wrong, get back on topic and discuss wether the word baka should be filtered or not, not discuss wether each other is doing stupidA common word shouldn’t be banned because ot’s offensive in one language out of hundreds
on the other hand, I do believe this word should stay, just maybe make it one of the “grey” words that would be removed if paired up with specific words (like “sussy”)
btw 48k and herios stop argueing if ya wanna argue go to ur profiles : P

but also, stuff like “sussy baka” still should also be banned (afterall, “sussy stupid idiot but as a swear” isn't really nice or appropriate either)
gosh darn i feel like I said “but sussy baka should still be banned” like 10 times now XD

idk if it would be specifically accurate but I can give like 50 examples of phrases in chinese that are racist, swears, bad, mean, but doesn't sound any bad when translated to english, im gonna assume its the same with baka, but we really should get a Japanese person to help verify
like seriosuly what are we even doing we are just restating stuff over and over
