That's not always the case
The editor is buggy, and sometimes editing the audio doesn't allow you to save
There are other examples of that but I'm lazy and I'm feeling miserable (physically) at the moment so I don't feel like grabbing a better example

that's caused by editing an mp3. when an mp3 file in scratch is edited, it becomes a .wav file, which are much bigger than mp3 files.

Help Scratch

Scratch converts all MP3’s to wav’s when you edit them, which greatly increases the file size. This sometimes causes the file to exceed the 10mb file size and prevents it from saving. You can circumvent this by editing the file OUTSIDE of scratch and then uploading it.

it straight up stopped, none of the audio even in the audio library will work, it doesn't even play. i made sure it was not muted but nothing happens, i cant cut or click any of the buttons and i'm in misery right now

I found out that I had to cut some parts out of my song to make it shorter and then save. But then when I got the part I wanted to cut, It wouldn't go away! I tried cutting it 2 more times. but still nothing! This is super annoying cause I can't leave without saving…

You can try cutting out a *very* large portion of it, and must making like a mini map or something.

I had this same issue! It's probably because the sound file is too large to be edited.

or making it faster so it takes less space and then doing math by using the change pitch block

set pitch to (insert number, must be negative)

make sure it is not TOO fast or it will just be a bloop sound.

How CAN you Fix These problems? I've been having them too and I feel like if I Can't share This AMV i'll go insane

(Mine is near 300 seconds long.)
I tried to trim it and it didn’t work, so same with me.
