"Scratch Around the World" forum sections should also have sub-forums, and more language forums.

I'm wondering if we should have Scratch Team liaisons to volunteer as native speakers for the Scratch Team. They would be the ones in charge of making announcements in one's native language, and could possibly act as forum moderators to make sure things are ok.

Kinda support.
It's somewhat unfair that non-english forums don't have “questions about Scratch”, “suggestions”, “things I'm reading and playing”, etc. However, as someone who goes on the french forums quite often, I'm perfectly fine without those and it's actually more practical to have one french forum instead of a quattuordecillion.
What would be more fair is if there was “things outside of Scratch” for each non-english forums ^^ Right now, all we have is a sticky

Necro-bump because of a duplicate link

Mostly support, this would make the forums for other languages all get subforums like Suggestions and Questions about Scratch.

This might seem hard at first, but could be easier to do by adding a “forums language” drop-down. It could be done bit by bit so more languages would have access to this feature overtime.

And I agree with the OP about what would happen to all topics in the current other language forums, people wouldn't create new topics in there, but the existing topics would still remain.

I feel this would be a tiny bit confusing in a way because of the current setup, but I see that it can be helpful to set it up this way nonetheless.

Support. It seems a bit unorganised to cram all of the forums in a language into one forum, and it might be unfair to non-English speakers that their forums are not split into multiple forums.

The only problems are that some forums might not get a lot of posts, and that many Scratch Team members do not speak many languages, making moderating the forums in those languages difficult without using inaccurate translation tools like Google Translate. A way to solve this is to have moderators that primarily speak languages other than English (they might have to moderate the forums as a job because an equivalent to the old Community Moderator program has been officially rejected), although the Scratch Team probably has enough members (unless there is a separate rank for the forums in other languages).

This should really added for big language forums, i.e. French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Polish, German, Spanish, and Russian as there's not much point in having 20 forums for Persian and Norwegian.

It’s not very fair that people who don)t speak English don’t have subtopics and have to use a crowded and unorganized forum and. English speakers have an organized with subtopics.

Support. The language forums are pretty crowed, and in the scratch foundation website they clearly state, "Providing young people with digital tools and opportunities to imagine, create, share, and learn.' Then why are being unfair just because other people speak different languages? and giving them a smaller and crowded space because their different?

ST, if you made all the regular forums spanish, and put the english forums in the “around the world” space, you would call that unfair because all of you are english, but your doing the exact same thing other people. and you will be quick to change all the main forums to english, and slow to implement this suggestion

Semi support. There is an other languages area

EDIT: Support. I did not read it properly. This would be good because people deserve more access to other languages instead of one sub forum
