[Incubator RC.2.0 is AVAILABLE FOR TESTING] Itinerary: Scratch Game Jams & More (itinerary.eu.org)

It's taken so long for Incubator to be released. I hope they will be done by 2023.

aII toasters toast toast, but what happens when there are no longer toasters being produced? will their technology simply become obsolete, with humans moving onto bigger, better things? will toast become a distant memory, written in textbooks of the future as foods us simpler generations ate? who's to say! society is constantly moving, changing, evolving, ideas being built upon, improved upon, theories being proven or disproven. are we but a blip on the timeline? sure, our names may not be remembered, but that's not the point. you can make a change. you can make a difference. you can make the world better, even if you don't know yet. and the first step is to go for it. even if you are afraid of failure. going back to the example of toasters, do you know off the top of your head who invented them? no? have you used one? probably. so, even if you don't remember my name, if I was able to help awnser your question, that is enough. if I was able to help you, even in the slightest way, this could push you to continue with scratch and not give up after the program crashes, and maybe one day learn other programming languages and change the world. everything is a cause and effect reaction, new inventions lead to the technology of the future, and even as the generations of the past are slowly forgotten, their influence lives on to this day, affecting how the world eventually turned out and how it will be for generations to come.

and, without toasters, we wouldn't have toast.

As a matter of fact, Incubator is already released at https://beta.itinerary.eu.org/. Yes, it's still not possible to designate the winners in game jams, but it's in the works. Writing quality code takes time and I've been extremely busy with non-Scratch related stuff in the past weeks. The code is open source; you are welcome to contribute! Finally, it looks like the demand for the sites I'm making for Scratch is really low, so there's not much that motivates me anymore to continue working on Incubator and Itinerary except to get them done once and for all.

For instance, I've just fixed a bug on Incubator that caused half of the pages to break for logged out users. However, it looks like this bug has been in production for at least a month now, and no one told me about it. That goes to show the lack of interest of the Scratch community regarding my Scratch related sites.

Sure, the Scratch Team might be a bit too harsh regarding external sites, but they certainly aren't the reason my Scratch sites get barely any traction.

That was a while ago. No use getting upset about it now.

Help improve the Advanced Topics (Really!)
Before you create a topic:
Always search for duplicates or other similar topics before making an umbrella topic, e.g., “The Mac Topic”.
  • Is it about something you are planning on making but haven't made yet? If so, please wait to post until you have created a working prototype. This is a key factor to keeping the ATs as clean as possible.
  • The ATs aren't technical support. It is perfectly valid to ask questions about things related to programming, but not issues with external websites, apps, or devices. Most sites have their own support system; try asking there!
  • Is it related to something you are making in Scratch? (This includes OSes and other Scratch projects) If so, please post in Collaboration, Show and Tell, or another similar forum.
  • Is your topic questionably “advanced”? Try browsing the other forums to see if your topic fits better in one of those.
  • Issues with Scratch itself should be put in Bugs and Glitches.
Before you post: Is what you're posting likely to start an argument or derail the thread (e.g., browsers, operating systems)? If so, please re-think your post!

Looky, your site isn't getting traction for mainly 3 reasons
  1. Scratch is aimed at kids, who don't particularly understand how to use this and don't care about it.
  2. Scratch Team tries to protect these kids from any inappropriate content as if a parent takes it into legal matters, which would be a costly matter and it would only take one CNN article saying “The dark side of Scratch” to end their entire userbase which is purely devastating.
  3. Everything costs money, whether it be developers, moderators, or server resources. They are a nonprofit that relies on donations, so they are limited to what they are donated. As a result, they need to prioritize what's most important since each thing they do means another thing they can't do.

This has further been confirmed by a Scratch Team member:

“ And we're kinda looking for more engineers at the moment, because are current ones are overworked. ”

I agree with and I'm aware of 1) and 2), but I don't see how 3) relates to your point.

But Dynamics! We are trying to make Scratch more fun using these 3rd party sites (e.g. Ocular)! And if you agree with the Scratch Team's decisions… pulls out pie

And I don't want this whole discussion to be eaten by the Scratch Team, so I'm gonna end this conversation and just continue talking about the development of Itinerary/Incubator.

I'm making good progress. I still haven't decided on a primary colour palette, though. If you or anyone else has an opinion on which colour I should pick from this list, please let me know.
