Supporter might be best… Since it does not really give them a title like friend to make you feel stalked or a title you don't want a random user to have (no offence), but supporter is like, well… A supporter for things without having to feel like he is your REAL friend when he may not be.

And I admits, the fleas were a bit silly. But what about ducks and ducklings? You've seen how you get a line of ducklings all following the mother duck. Your followers could be your ‘ducklings’ and the people you are following are ‘Mother Ducks’.
