The creator never said that they were releasing the engine, I am not sure where you are getting that information from.

Alpha 1 will be showcased via gifs, and images. After Alpha 1 is showcased, Alpha 2 will be showcased in 5 - 6 days. Alpha 2 will announce the engine's release date, this month.

Alpha two will reveal the whole process of the engine. It's manuals, plugin (over world), and studio's changes

Alpha one will be released during the US timezone.
